"So.. how's the bodyguard gig going?" Eddie leaned in a doorway, arms crossed and watching Jonah. This was one of those rare days he had come over to Virtue to visit his family and decided to pay the younger man a visit as well on his way back. "Did we ever solve the death of her husband? I don't remember."

"I'm going out of my fucking mind, Ray." Eddie was hunched over his drink with his head in his other hand as they sat in one of those makeshift bars. "Like, don't get me wrong, it's fine here but damn, I don't half miss my family."

BACKGROUND:

Five years ago, Eddie was punished and sent to the rejected, but why? Well, that’s a long story, you see some years back a Knight went digging a little too deeply into some corruption in the system and when he came to Eddie about it, he asked the Knight to just forget it and keep his head down. Next thing he knew, said Knights family goes missing and he’s thrown to the rejected and Eddie? He feels deeply guilty.

Before all this, Eddie was a married man with an amazing wife and two children whom he adored to pieces. He liked the life they had built together, having known each other as kids at the academy and married right out of school, to outsiders it looked like a match made it heaven (and it was). Which is why when Ray’s family went missing, it stayed on his mind and when faced with a choice before he was sent to the rejected, he offered to divorce his wife so she wouldn’t be subjected to the lowest of the low.

That guilty feeling never quite left him as he started to dig into the files he had found left behind by Ray and there it was, allegations made to those further up about corruption so Eddie dug into it himself for months and tracked Ray down to hear his side of the story. Bringing all the evidence with him of the corruption to confront his superiors backfired and he’s been Rejected ever since.

With the recent event of the gate closing, he’s been taking the opportunity of sneaking into Virtue to visit his (ex) wife and their children.

Wanted connections:

Knights - as he is a former chief, he will know a lot of Knights over the years. It's up to you how they react to his rejected status.

Children - Eddie has two children who he really misses but had to make the choice to protect them. Maybe they resent him for it? To be plotted of course.

Wife - It broke their hearts to have to divorce, but Eddie has never stopped loving her and still tries to get over there regularly.

Friends - People who haven't turned their backs on him, they can be either virtue or vice.

Idiots - People who actually turned their backs on him, his word, not mine.
