Where: the salon Who: Christian & Giselle
He had chosen the end of the day to go and see Giselle in the salon, it was almost closing time most of the customers would be gone by now if not already so when he walked in, he had a face of thunder, obviously still angry from the way things had gone down with Alice about Angelie.
"I would sit down if I were you."
Jonathan Bailey for Style Magazine Italia, 2020.🔥❤️🔥☄️😍🥵🫠😮💨💥💪🏼
It's such a strange and bewildering feeling that you could want to despise someone, and still go running to them before anyone else. Didn't it say something, who you chose to run to when it felt like the end of the world? Danny might not be "the one" that she'd imagined when they'd first met, but they're still... Connected in their souls somehow, she thinks, because they'd been so easy, so seamless, and she'd never have told Jonah or her ex before half the things she and Danny trusted each other with so easily. Maybe that's why the hurt made her lash out so badly. Would she ever manage to find that in someone else in a way that ended romantically? Noah's so, so honest, but he's also horrifically out of her league, and they both knew it. Especially now! Lenianna and Jordan are the kindest, purest people she knows, and that leaves her afraid to tell them anything that isn't perfect or wholesome. Why couldn't she be like all three of them? She tried so hard to be good like them, kind like them, someone for her brothers and Kiran and her parent to be proud of. Did she not belong there in the first place?
Angelie lets herself be tugged closer, leaning against Danny's chest as she attempts to breathe between her tears. "A high-ranking Vice, he told me I'm his daughter, Danny. I asked my friend to help me get a DNA test to prove him wrong, but he said... Danny, he seemed so sure. Like he would have put a lot of money on a bet." She holds up the locket still secured around her neck. "Please tell me I look like them. Please, Danny."
Danny let Angie have a moment with her thoughts as he glanced over at his bags now on the floor and remembering he had ice cream, but that was another issue altogether because his friend needed him right now.
"Hm? Why would he say that?" He asked with a small frown then looked at the locket she was holding up and looked at the pictures inside of it with a small smile. "See now, these are your parents and that doesn't change a thing, ok? It doesn't matter if you were adopted or born or find family, it's family. I'm sure this guy has a good reason to tell you what he had done."
It was nice, in a terrifying sort of way, that Christian seemed to understand what he meant without Art having to say it out loud. Art wasn't sure he had the strength to face it directly. Not without a joke. Not without making the whole thing uglier, louder, or stupider than it already was. "Yeah," he said with a scoff. "Of course. Yeah."
Except some awful part of him wondered if this was something Christian could actually protect him from. This wasn't exactly a physical threat Christian could step in front of. This was Art's own body betraying him in real time, and Christian looking scared only made that feel more real.
"Wouldn't be surprised if it was just me, honestly," he added, trying for casual and missing by a mile. "Bad things happen to me at the funniest moments. It's very committed to the bit." He tucked some hair behind his ear, then immediately frowned. Even a small movement like that felt totally foreign to him. Blinking, Art glanced back at Christian and then raised a brow. "You really wanna try explaining why your boyfriend is a girl to a doctor friend in Virtue?" he asked. "Because that sounds less like an emergency and more like the worst improv prompt of all time."
"Don't say that" christian frowned "remember that shared dream we all had? It must be like that." Was he trying to convince Art or himself of it? He gave him a look.
"Bad things shouldn't happen to you, you're a good person, shit things should happen to me." He gestured to himself then sighed. "I have no other ideas than going to Will and seeing if he has any. You don't have to come with me, I can speak to him on my own if you prefer."
"Well, does he know that?" Violet challenged, jabbing a finger towards Christian as if to emphasize her point. "If not, maybe you should let him know. You know? Stop any shit before it starts."
"He does know that!" Christian poked her back for that. "He's just doing it to wind us up and I'm not having it. We just need to not rise to the teasing as it fuels the fire."
"Uh, I dunno man," Matty shot a look over at his brother as they walked, raising a brow at him. "Atmosphere is a word that old people use. Like, if it's got a good atmosphere, it might be a place for old people. Buuuut food's food, so I'm down."
"I'm 41 you little shit." Elijah shook his head at him and laughed before grabbing his arm and pulling him into a headlock so he could give him a noogie before letting him go. "See now, food is food."
Beverly’s heart skipped once, then twice. One would think that feeling would have gone away by now. But not with Elijah. Never with Elijah. "You’re perfect to me," she murmured again, sighing softly as his lips brushed against her neck.
Her hands settled against his chest as she tilted her head to give him better access. "I didn’t say flawless." A small smile started on her lips. "I said perfect to me. There’s a difference." Her fingers curled lightly into his shirt. "And for the record, I like your not-so-perfect side, too. Maybe more than I should.”
"It's because you like a bad boy." He teased with a small laugh. "God, I haven't been that guy in years." Elijah shook his head then wrapped his arms around her to give her a small squeeze. "Thank you for marrying me." He whispered.

"Woah, what's brought you up here? It's been a while." Malachi shrugged in Ray's direction then offered an awkward smile, they just weren't good at small talk. "Can I buy you a drink?" They offered.

After taking a good beating that night, Malachi lay on the floor of the room they had been using for tonight's fights and let out a long sigh. There had been a lot of angry people who had lost a lot of credits due to Malachi being knocked on before their time.
"What?" They looked up at Maxie and shrugged. "I wasn't into it tonight."
"You should be able to get that all the time, though, seeing as you live here and all," Billie responded with a shrug. "But, I mean, we also make burgers, by the way. Like, multiple places do. We just don't do these weird shakes that you guys have here."
"I don't come over here that often." A lie but Billie didn't need to know that as they took another bite. "It's this certain burger." They held it up. "That's what I'm saying."

A sharp pain tore through Beverly so suddenly she almost forgot how to breathe. All those memories they had made together, and now she was the only one left to carry them? No. No, that couldn’t be true. That would be unbearable.
"Y-Your joke got me," she clarified, her voice trembling as she tried to force the moment back into something normal. Something fixable. "That’s what I meant." Her lip quivered, but she continued on anyway, desperate now. "You love me," she said, trembling. "I love you."
Was it too much to say she was his wife? Would that scare him more? Would it mean anything at all? Her eyes burned, but she refused to look away. "You can’t say you forgot me," Beverly said, the words breaking. "You can’t look at me like I’m a stranger." They just got a happy ending. It was unfair. "Please, Elijah."
Deep down inside Elijah was screaming but it was falling on deaf ears as he continued to give Beverly a confused look with every word she was saying. "I um... maybe I hit my head?" He suggested. "Because there's no way I would forget someone like you if that's the case." Elijah forced out a chuckle because the look on her face was filling him with concern for himself.
He took a second to look around as well and frowned some. "Where are we anyway?"
"Maxie Valentine, Ma'am," he bowed his head respectfully, reaching up to take her hand and plant a gentle kiss against her knuckles. Just stay cool Maxie. "Do I get the pleasure'a yer name...please?"
Pippa watched as Maxie took her hand and kissed it, ok, this was a little strange, even for a man who lived here in Hiraeth. "Ok Maxie... did Jaren put you up to this? Is that what this is?" She asked as she took her hand back. "You'd know who I am in that case."
Jaren slides his hands into his pockets as the door closes behind them. "What can I say? I'm pretty skilled at achieving the unachievable. I do, in fact, as a renowned businessman in Vice. The first of many businesses, probably. Don't worry, I won't make you go on the roller coaster in that outfit," he teases, holding out one hand. "Come on, I'll show you the perfect date spot.
She raised an eyebrow at him then smirked. "I bet you scream like a girl on them." Pippa teased right back at him then put her hand into his. "Ok, fine show me this place." She gestured with her other hand.
"You guess or you can?" Matty questioned, raising a brow at Danny. "You gotta be more sure of it than that. 'Cause there's a difference between what I do to 'Espresso' at karaoke night and what Jade Hart does at The Church or Riot Theatre."
"Mate... I can barely arrange my thoughts clearly on the best of days, let alone remember if my singing was any good." Danny told him with a slight sigh. "It doesn't matter, if it doesn't happen, then it doesn't happen."
"Okay. Fine. But only if you're sure." Matty responded slowly, as if he really wasn't sure about the idea still. Regardless, he knew he had to try so he stepped forward and then walked past her, bumping her with his shoulder as he did before whirling around, grinning. "Did it work?" When his unchanged voice registered, though, he groaned. "Fuck!"
When it didn't work, Sara cringed. "Oh dear... I have no idea." She shrugged her shoulders. "Did you do something before coming out? Like touch something you shouldn't have?" she was just pulling ideas out of her ass to try and help.
