8. do they wake up groggy or alert? do they like mornings?
Thanks to the joys of dog walking, Nora is almost always awake early. But is she ever actually prepared to be awake at the crack of dawn? No. Without fail, it takes her an extra hour in the morning to turn into a functioning human being again. She’ll start with a cold shower, a few cups of coffee, and a snack while she’s back in bed to enjoy at least twenty minutes of screen time with her laptop – and then maybe she’ll consider schlepping over to her closet to get dressed. Even on the days that she has no early routes, Nora will still be rolling out of bed by 8 AM, just to putter around the house.
10. what do they smell like? do they use perfume or cologne?
Nora rarely ever remembers to actually put on perfume. There’s a few random body sprays and perfume bottles floating around her bedroom (including a rollerball of Viva la Juicy that she stole from her sister close to ten years ago), but she’s never found a particular ‘signature scent’ that she really liked. When it comes to deodorant, she’s just as picky, constantly switching up brands when it’s time to repurchase. As long as she can’t smell any distinguishing scent on herself, she’s content.
25. do they have a short temper? what’s most likely to set it off?
Nora has the patience of a saint, but she’s as sensitive as a tween girl debuting an all new look for the first time. Criticism is the one thing that’ll rattle her quick. No matter who it’s coming from or how well-intended their words are, Nora will argue in retaliation. Advice goes in one ear, gets all jumbled up in her head, and mistakenly taken far more personally than it’s usually intended. It’s not often that she angry, her flickers of negative emotions being shelved for another day, but there’s something about the blend of embarrassed frustration over possibly being unfairly judged that tips the scales in an instant.

40. do they have siblings? if so, how many? do they like them?
Rachel Hall is Ethan’s one and only sister. She’s four years younger than him and has always been infinitely smarter. As children they were very close, with Ethan constantly leading them in games and freshly imaginative adventures, but there was shift in their dynamic at the start of their teen years. They drifted and recognized the differences in each other, most likely spurred on by the family therapy and marriage counseling that ensued for a solid decade under the reign of their mother. Even as adults, though, they get along fairly well. Sure, ‘bitch tits’ is still their go-to insult for each other, but Rachel has had Ethan’s back during necessary moments and vice versa.
51. where do they see themselves in 2 / 5 / 10 years?
Ethan has a lot of ambition for someone who has very few skills, because he wants it all. Maybe it’s not possible in only two or five years, but at a ten year stretch, he’d like to see himself with the means to open up his own restaurant. He’d want to be living on the beach, making a six figure salary, and sharing the wealth with his friends and family. Is it really plausible? Not at all, but Ethan’s never been much of a logical thinker -- to say that he saw the world through rose-colored glasses would be an understatement.
