Bryan Cliff notes

I think I just hate writing backstories. So until I finally finish his updated backstory, here's some cliff notes for whats going on:

Aberration Sciences and Research Institute (ASRI) is a secretive company known only for their work with globally recognized anomalous events, and not much else (your quintessential Big Bad Company doing Big Questionable Things)

Anomalies are known to exist around the world by the general populace

Bryan is contracted to help construct a massive underwater facility for said company, as he's an underwater welder

Prisons forcibly rent out their prisoners to work for ASRI in exchange for lighter sentences (mostly it's just because they're needed though)

Facility is 4000 meters (2.2 miles) below sea level where major anomalous readings have been recorded

Bryan works there because he's addicted to adrenaline and needs the high (it also explains why he loves dangerous sports, but also refuses to acknowledge that it's a problem), so he figures the incredibly delicate situation offers him something good

Anomalies make it even scarier to work down that far in the ocean, and one day there's a facility breach

He is hit by something unseen and briefly knocked out before he finally wake up and finds a pod to escape to the surface

After being rescued by whatever country's coastguard, Bryan runs away because he knows ASRI is gonna wanna interrogate him

Interrogation means they find whatever unseen thing smacked into him, which then means being a permanent lab rat

The anomaly inside him is doing Bad Things™ to Bryan's reality and perception of it (creating monsters and false scenarios and just generally making Bryan have a hard time)

Bryan is forever in hiding while also trying to find a way to remove the entity from inside his person

He’s got a data jack near to his temple that can receive thumb drives or cables. He keeps a cable plugged into himself and tucks the cord behind his ear when he’s not using it. His ears are gauged. 

Occupation: Mercenary with a hacker specialization and an engineering proficiency.

Iyyov Getha

Before his homeworld of Nova was destroyed by the Mutaren (an aggressive, crystal-like alien species bent on wiping out all life), Iyyov was a hacker mercenary for a group called Ironclad. Most of his work dealt with the obtaining and trading of confidential information. His missions started to have him work closely with the Novan military. Through his jobs with the military (with missions that allowed him to travel into space), Iyyov quickly learned that, due to their terrible pride, his government had concealed information regarding how bad the Mutaren threat was, and how little time his people had to react. 

The first ones to evacuate the planet were government officials and high-ranking elite members of society, all of whom took the best ships and equipment their society had to offer.

Frustrated and bitter, but also wanting to escape from Nova before it was inevitably destroyed, Iyyov worked alongside a ship production company known has the Nackle Corporation. The company was led by the Nackle family, the youngest of whom would join Iyyov in The Endling (a ship the youngest Nackle created).

There weren’t enough ships, and there were even less ships made with star jump technology. Everyone simply ran out of time. Those who couldn’t fit on a ship was left behind while those who could make it off of Nova fled. Though, not even all of the Novans who were able to escape the planet could escape the onslaught of Mutaren enemy ships firing down on them.

Eleven years after Novan defeat, Iyyov travels the universe in search of information to loot and sell. He makes a living working with black markets far and wide and deals with many a nefarious being. He still captains The Endling (which has gone through many upgrades since it’s maiden voyage), and has a modest crew to help handle it.

Saw her loving mother banging Krampus (more than once mind you). It scared/scarred her for a good portion of her childhood. And she used to love xmas.

Had her sexual awakening around 15, aka discovered she preferred girls over the boys. Though she is definitely bisexual. also might or might not have had a harem type thing going on.

Did some stupid shit in her youth (when I figure all that out I’ll let you know)

Loved watching horror films growing up. Due to seeing her mom banging Krampus she has become desensitized to a lot of things, like horror films

Very big into the occult. Would read up on all the things.

Loves her siblings, she is pretty much there for them all. Hell she would even let them crawl into bed with her when they had nightmares

Basically kind of become a mom to her siblings, sometimes she’ll mother hen them in a joking manor. She is protective of them even when she is kind of joking around.

Tried to balance being a kind of mother figure and older sister to her younger siblings.

carried a damn first aid kit  because her siblings have been known to be magnets for trouble or hurting themselves. 

had a brief psychotics break down after Dani die.

Greg

she loves Greg and is there for him too. And yeah she even mothered him too.

Tim

knows who his real father is and never really told him

feel feels guilty that she didn’t make the time to tell him the truth, and for not being able to realize how depressed her baby bother is.

if Tim ever needed help she’d be there to help him, which would include a trip to Germany to find his father

kat might have hooked up with one of his exes 

had to teach him about sex... still probably needs to check up on his knowledge about sex and health stuff. she really should just give him a quiz every month. 

Dani

is closer to Dani, cause she was pretty much Kat’s mini-me

Her heart was shattered when Dani was possessed by a demon and couldn’t be saved. Blames her sister's death on their parents. rarely speaks with them

Feels guilty that she couldn’t save Dani, nor did she realize what was happening .

she spoiled Dani and still does

also had the sex talk with her, and gave her a book titled “Come as You Are: The Surprising New Science that Will Transform Your Sex Life“ by Emily Nagoski. She also doesn’t have to worry about Dani not being safe.

David Isaac Burris

David was born December 11th, 1986. Ever since his youth he’d been a hard worker -- enthusiastic about education and he had a penchant for physical exertion. One could say David was an overachiever and they’d be right. But he never saw it as overachieving. It was the need to do the best and be the best. Not to show everyone else up, but to prove to himself he could. Self satisfaction was and is a strong motivator for David. This mindset carried up through his basic education earning him the title of Valedictorian.

He was as active as he was intelligent. David juggled sports with education. Physical fitness ranked high in importance for David. It was a way to work off his stress with the added bonus of a decent physical appearance.

After high school, David studiously applied for scholarships and grants to put him through school. His family wasn’t poor, but they weren’t millionaires either, they were very much a part of the shrinking middle class. He received a full ride to his undergrad program, and very helpful grants and scholarships towards the rest of his schooling. David knew early on he wanted to study medicine, more specifically, to become a surgeon. It would take him 16 long, grueling years from the age of 18. He earned the honor summa cum laude (an honor limited to the 1% of awarded degrees) and by the age 34, he could call himself a surgeon, gaining certificates in both general surgery and surgical critical care.

After completing his residency and his completion of his certificates, David’s resume would stand out among other applicants. He applied to several local hospitals as well as to hospitals in other states. He’d move just about anywhere for that stellar position.

While waiting to hear back from interviews, David is visited by an entity he’d never even applied to. He couldn’t have if he tried, as they are only known to those employed by them. BOPE (Baseline Offensive Paramilitary Enforcement), an incredibly under the radar mercenary force. It was their founder and director that came into contact with David. She told him he could apply to these other facilities, but they wouldn’t be using his full potential, that he’d be a wasted asset. She acquired David’s resume through BOPE’s own data filtration system, application not necessary. His incredible marks in school and in his higher education made him a perfect candidate as an OPs agent. David of course was more than willing to apply, but there was more to becoming an operator for BOPE than a simple interview.

Four long weeks it would take for David to officially become BOPE material. From sun up to sun down he was trained as a military operator. From fighting to weapon usage. There were many times he wanted to give up, as violence and needing to use force wasn’t a strong suit. He was a shy and timid individual. It was his tenacity for achievement and repulsion of failure that kept him from quitting. It was the one on one sparring that would hand him his own ass the most.

Graduation was admittedly a disappointment. It was a pat on the back and directions to the medical bays. Considering in college there was a whole ceremony dedicated to achievement. Nonetheless, David was proud of his achievements; he never knew he’d have it within himself to join a military outfit of any kind. He was not only certified as a surgeon, but he now qualified as a combat medic should he be needed on the field during missions.

David still remains the same quiet individual as he’s always been. He is still quite the pacifist but will pull a trigger if need be. After all, BOPE needs fighters at all times. They can’t risk having a coward in their midst.

He spends his days on research when he’s not tending to the medical needs of others. Others know him to be quite the late worker, David often slumped over his notes well into the early morning with a cold cup of coffee next to him. When he’s not researching, he’s at the gym to maintain physical standards.

He’d later earn the moniker ‘Cutter’ as an expression of his superior surgical skills.

Muses I have Solid Ideas for and will eventually flesh out into proper profiles:

Honey the Sugar Glider: Flight Member of “The Tasmanian Terrors”, She’s about 16-17. She knew Kicks before they formed the Extreme Gear team, but respects that Kicks doesn’t want to talk about his past. Nothing anyone does or says will get her to talk about Kicks and her’s childhood unless Kicks starts the conversation first.

Master Emerald: The Master Emerald has taken the form of a Mobian Echidna to raise a tiny baby Knuckles. She’s majoritively a crack character though you are free to have serious conversations with her! She is a very calm and motherly sort of ‘person’ always willing to listen and give advice. 

Phantom Ruby: The Phantom Ruby has taken the most adorable (feral) puppy form and is looking for Loup! They just want to make it up to their new friend all the trouble Eggman caused the both of them :( They had no idea he was being used against his will. They can take other forms and prefer they/he pronouns.

Mewtwo: Specifically the one from the Detective Pikachu Movie! He’s just a really good chill boy who’s been inspired by Detective Pikachu to give humans another chance! He’s not afraid to defend himself however, so watch out.

Joli the Twili: My Twili LOZ OC, they are a really gentle and sweet person, they know quite a bit about treating ailments with ingredients natural to the twilght realm. They do not really speak fluently outside of the Twili language but they try their hardest.

Unnamed OK KO OC: He’s a villain who specializes in theft. His power is to make bubbles to store things in or walls of bubbles to block people’s paths. These bubbles are completely opaque preventing people from being able to tell which ones are empty, which have stolen goods, and which are booby trapped. The bubbles are very sticky and not fun to deal with. He’s basically just a petty criminal compared to most other villains.

Sonic the Hedgehog: Really really non-canon personality wise. He’s not as unapologetically goofy or cocky, but he’s still a fun loving guy. He has confidence in his skills as a Hero but doesn’t rub it in anyone face except Eggman. He’s very supportive of his younger brother, doing everything he can to be sure Tails is provided for. He raised Tails on his own practically since the kid was born. Only verse I have for him is Older Now to match my Knuckles. He’s ftm fully transitioned as well…. He’s also depressed as heck and taking medication for it, he pretends to be fine but he’s really really not fine

Shadow the Hedgehog: Error-- Too many divergent AUs found. Ask in IM if you would like to RP with Shadow. Very Selectively Open.

Wind Waker Link: Post canon WW Link is a really fun guy! He’s a little traumatized by the events at the end of the game but doesn’t let that slow him down! He loves Tetra but she gets on his every last nerve sometimes. He misses the King of the Red Lions and wants to find a new home for the Hylians to make him proud!
