Dylan thrived on living a quiet life, he kept himself out of the spotlight, out of harms way, and he was happy, until recently. There were strange rumours circling the school and Dylan was beginning to feel more than a little on edge. You see, things had been happening recently, weird things that Dylan couldn’t explain nor make sense of. He’d been having vivid dreams, dreams that left him in a cold sweat when he woke him, his body shivering with fear as he tried to remind himself that it wasn’t real.
But then the blackouts had started, Dylan would wake up somewhere he’d swear he’d never been before, completely naked, sometimes covered in scratches, sometimes even blood. He was terrified, and he swore that he was going insane. Plenty of times he’d thought about talking to someone, confiding in his mother over what was happening to him, but out of fear of being rejected or locked away, he kept his fears to himself. Instead conducting his own research, most websites put his symptoms down to stress or being overworked, which he supposed made sense given that his senior year finals were fast approaching.
So he tried slowing things down a little, taking a break from his homework and focusing on something a little more lighthearted, video games, comic books, that sort of things. But the blackouts were becoming more frequent, sometimes he’d lose hours in a day, that he just couldn’t explain. The latest being the most terrifying yet, when he awoke, he was in the middle of a nearby field, surrounded by blood and the flesh of what he assumed to be a cow - though he couldn’t be too sure - completely naked and covered in scratches and a number of new flesh wounds.
“What is happening to me?” he asked shakily, holding his hands up in the dim moonlight trying to examine the damage.
