Etymology if the word museum:

Museum was also used as library or academy, therefore nowadays it's the library of art.

From Greek moyseîon and the in Latin museum, it refers to 'Temple of the Muses in the Parthenon'. The muses were sons of Memory and goddesses of inspiration. The museum of Alejandria tried to reunite the most important thinkers of the time.
