A random question, since they were requested: Do you have a favorite museum?
God, that’s like asking if I have a favorite child. I grew up wandering through the Met, so I have a special fondness for it, but when I was in Paris I went to the Rodin Museum and it was about the closest thing I’ve had to a religious experience (the way he sculpted and cast hands!!!). And there’s definitely a place in my heart for the Rembrandt House Museum in Amsterdam - it was kinda the place where I had that “this is what I want to do for a living” epiphany. So there’s a smattering, to start with.
The MET!
Hubby and I have wandered around the globe and we both love, LOVE museums. The big ones, the mandatory ones, the little ones, the funny ones, the quirky ones, the forgotten ones...you get the point, we LOVE THEM ALL!
On Tuesday, he upgraded our MET pass to a family pass. YAY!
I can't wait to go and explore every corner of this awesome place, over and over, again with my Josh and my Ian.
The MOMA is free on Friday nights and free for me because I work for CUNY. The Whitney's new building will open up soon and I'm eagerly waiting for that to happen. It's going to be right next to the High Line Park in Chelsea--I CANNOT WAIT!
This post fulfills my inner geek and museum junkie needs...
