Two Swainson's thrush have finished their beetle, peroxide, and hand cleaning rounds and will now make their way to my office, where they will be assembled as part of a fall migration display. A sobering reminder: all of the birds in the display except for one were victims of window strike. Millions of birds worldwide die from the threat posed by light pollution and massive window reflections. You can help by remembering to turn off the lights when you're not using them, and by putting silhouette or UV stickers on your large windows adjacent to vegetation!
