i’m obsessed with the first album people bought with their own money (not a gift or inherited). says so much. for me it was avril lavigne’s let go and the shrek soundtrack.

one of the best parts about being a fan of a musician is being on their journey with them and growing alongside them and having their art being parallel to what you’re going through in multiple different points of your lives
Hey! I’m currently writing a paper on the TAZ music (specifically balance) and I’m asking fellow fans if they’re willing to say a few words. Would you be willing to say anything about how the music has affected you/affected your experience with the show? or just in general anything you want to say about the music 💖💖
oh goodness! yes, I'd be glad to!
when I started listening to balance I was a senior in high school and it was the very start of marching band season. I was a musician my entire public school career, so when Griffin started adding soundtracks to the episodes, I was entirely delighted! I remember listening to the crystal kingdom late at night, and when the crystal kingdom lullaby started playing for the first time I distinctly remember getting chills. I was also hugely affected by the music he added in Wonderland, and the voidfish theme in the finale.
the music in taz: balance never failed to get an emotional response out of me. for me it provided atmosphere, and helped to set the scene. it never disappointed me. when the music would build towards the climax of an arc, the tension in me would build as well. it really carried me through the podcast - with my attention span, I honestly don't think I would have listened all the way through without a soundtrack to keep me invested!
anyway, I'm gonna go relisten to balance because I just realized how much I miss it. hope this helped!
