✧・゚ the quarantine-only oc project
This here’s for @yourlovingspy after they came up with this magnificent idea !! The rules are simple: This temporary OC was made from scratch, using this post and will only be played during the pandemic to brighten up our mood, as we’re stuck in self-isolation. When everything’s over, it’s over.
First off; I couldn’t find a suiting FC so I’ll just go without one for now.
Name: Christian ‘ Kit ‘ Elliott
Height: 1,73 m (( short but fierce in his words ))
Body Type: Very slender. defined arms
Looks: chiseled jawline, friendly dark-grey eyes. half-long hair; dark undercut. dyes his hair - A. LOT. would be referred to as cute or pretty rather than classically handsome by others.
Song: Pumped up kicks by Foster The People (( I went with the vibe, not the lyrics 😅 ))
Kit is a very laid-back, fun-loving and loyal boy with a generally positive attitude. He’s that kind of a guy who’d drive you everywhere if you just asked and who sings along to all the songs on the radio, even the ones he doesn’t know. He got raised by a single mother of three and has two younger sisters; the youngest being 13 and the other 15 years old. The neighborhood he grew up in was your typical working class and with their father always in and out of their lives, struggling with the alimony, the Elliott kids didn’t have access to the latest things. Their mother was well-liked and would receive second-hand-clothing from other families. Kit will wear anything he can get his hands on; if he likes it he calls dibbs on it.
Most of his shirts are usually bleached out from the long-term use, but even after he started to work at a local gas-station, he still seems to only own ripped jeans. Not because he couldn’t afford something else, but because he likes it. He dyes his naturally brown hair a lot but since he does it on his own, it always turns out kinda sloppy. It all started when he found a newspaper advertisement where hairdresser apprentices were looking for models to practice on in change for money. His mom didn’t approve of his whims since he always had a lot of them, but got used to it. Others would describe him as a teasing, little (non-malicious) trouble-maker who was always up for the next adventure with his best friend. Kit had always been a people-pleaser and an opportunist. He’d avoid drama but if confronted, would always fight back and also say shit he wouldn’t mean. He does have his morals but will always look for a loophole in order to get what he wants without heavily violating them.
He’s into abandoned places, slack-lining and music and has a habit of shoplifting. For an example, he’d always take stuff like nail polish for his sisters (( that he’d use himself as well )). Before the world started to end he frankly had no idea what he wanted in life. He was a smart kid in school - smart but lazy, didn’t take it seriously and had other priorities like hanging out with his mate or day-dreaming. College wasn’t a real option, money- and grade-wise, and scholarships were off the table since he missed the opportunities to qualify.
THE NPC: Her name is Ruth Doyle and she’s a woman in her late 30ies from Kit’s neighborhood. She was inspired by Down in the Willow-Garden by The Everly Brothers and her and Kit’s relationship song was Lost Continent by The Comsat Angels. She’s a very melancholic woman, has a heavy and hurt heart but a gentle soul. During long and warm summer evenings Kit would hang out with her on her front porch. She’s one of the few people Kit knows who ever told him that they liked his hair, what was the main reason why he took a liking on the woman. She was new in the neighborhood and people would talk about her, especially since her and Kit would spend time with each other. Kit’s mother accused her of getting him into smoking but little did she knew that he already did that before he met Ruth. With her he just dared to do it in front of everyone’s eyes. And oh, they’d smoke a lot during those evenings.
She seemed to go through quite a lot what was the reason why she moved here at all. Kit, a sensible soul, sensed that she was lonely. She’d work at odd hours and would never let him in on what she did, but he’d always pick up (( or snatch )) stuff for her at the stores or help her carry things from her car to her door. But she never asked him to come in. Kit considers her a real lady and more real than the people around them. They share the same kind of humor and she once told him that he was a total keeper.
