Mark McKinney – The ‘Country Rocker’
I’ve always lived by the old adage “Never judge a book by it’s cover” but if anyone is a personification of those words, it is Mark McKinney. At first glance he’s a rock star, hear the opening notes to his music he’s country, get into his songs and he’s both! I kid you not when I say that I have found an album that country fans, rock and southern rock fans can get down to. I know that we all have this idea built up in our heads what each genre of music should sound like, so when someone like Mark comes along and not only blurs those lines but he combines them successfully, it either scares us or confuses us because we don’t know what to think. I assure you that his music is effing fantastic – beer, whiskey, drinkin’ with your buddies and/or girlfriends at the bar or around a bonfire fantastic. His album is made up of songs that you’ll not only be singing after you’ve heard them, but you’ll also be introducing them to friends. I’m willing to bet he’ll be a household name soon enough.
