I just started a digital grimoire to accompany my physical one. And I came across the best organization method using the app Scrivener!!

I already had Scrivener downloaded because I’m a writer, so I was playing with different templates and they had a recipe book. I thought “I wonder if that would work for a grimoire”, and HOLY SHIT DOES IT EVER. 

THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING.

You can organize spells into all of these sections and it lets you source your content so you know where it came from if you’re adding other people’s spells and I even can separate my personal spells from ones I’ve found in my reading.

THIS IS THE BEST THING TO EVER HAPPEN TO MY JOURNEY IN THE CRAFT. SERIOUSLY. 10/10 RECOMMEND.

So I figured I’d make a post about the tools and general supplies I use. I have a pretty fair amount of stuff for someone who’s only been active in the craft for about two weeks. Note: this does not include the two books I have (the art of divination and a little bit of wicca).

this goes to show that witchcraft doesn’t have to be expensive. I only spent like $24 on this. The rest was scavenged (or created, gifted, etc.) You can be a witch on a budget!!!

musicalwitchling’s divination spell

A spell I wrote to help me with divination. I’m new to witchcraft and divination, so I thought it would be nice to write a spell featuring my chosen goddess (Andraste, a celtic goddess that may have been a goddess of divination) to aid me in the process. The goddess can be altered depending on the path you follow, or if you’re a secular witch, just change the spell wording until it feels right. 

And now, the spell.

If you want, you can light a candle. I do a lot of on-the-go tarot, so this isn’t always an option for me. If you do want to light one, I would recommend white, gold, blue, purple, or light grey. I’ve read that these are the best for clarity, spiritual enlightenment, all that jazz.

Hold your divination tool- be it runes, a pendulum, your tarot- in your nondominant hand. Hold your dominant hand right above it and say the following:

Divination goddess Andraste,

Lead me, aid me, guide me.

Direct my hand wherever I need.

Show me what I need to see.

Thank you, Goddess.

Blessed be.

Then just continue with your divination! It seems to work for me.
