Michael Geoffrey "Mick" Jones (born June 26, 1955) is a musician, singer, and songwriter best known as the lead guitarist, co-lead vocalist, and songwriter for The Clash. He sang lead vocals on "Should or Should I Go." In 1983, Jones was asked to leave the band because he had become difficult to work with. Later, he formed Big Audio Dynamite with filmmaker and producer Don Letts. Jones collaborated with other ex-punk musicians; the round came at this weird time in the '80s when things were neon, and there was a house, pop, and hip-hop-influenced sound. Currently, he plays solo shows and tells stories of playing with The Clash. Jones is still playing with Big Audio Dynamite. He occasionally plays solo exhibitions, plays old Clash songs, and tells old punk stories. Jones is still a significant influence on punk artists and an essential part of today.
