Queen Bey is Finding Trends

Beyonce has recently taken a step into the investor roll in Silicon Valley. While this may be less interesting to her mega music fans, the start up in which she invested in suggests there’s another market in music waiting to be further disrupted: live shows/touring. Sidestep, Beyonce’s most recent seed investment, is an app that allows you to purchase tour merch on the app and then skip the line at the show to pick it up. For artists, touring has become far more important of a revenue stream since streaming has declined. This app allows for users to easily access all of the merchandise, see photos up close, prices, and purchase from the phone.
