I’m gonna talk about how I made Lillith’s playlist, because I want to.
The first two songs (In Deinen Hüften by OOMPH! and Daddy Like by Dorian Electra) are intentionally skeevy because Lils plays up to the male gaze for her work. She puts up this “teehee I’m just a girl having fun” facade for her clients, which is portrayed in the next few songs: Tik Tok by Kesha, Girls Just Want to Have Fun and Juice by Lizzo. Sugar by Garbage is also about her being a manic pixie dream girl for the clients, all she needs and wants is sugar (and the client’s money).
Then it takes a hard turn when you get to Lillith’s true nature: Sex is Not the Enemy by Garbage, Fxxk Boyz Get Money by FEMM, Deepthroat by cupcakKe, S&M by Rihanna, Whoregasm by cupcakKe and Mata Hari by Efendi are about how she’s built her empire with sex work. Toy by Netta, Diva by Beyoncé, Dead Wrong by FEMM, Je me casse by Destiny and Truth Hurts by Lizzo are about how she doesn’t take any shit even if she has to be on her knees for men because of her job. Don’t Sleep by Bad Snacks is a warning for people who play with her or hurt sex workers, both musically and in the title.
No Gods No Masters by Garbage was the first song I put on the playlist and inspired me to make a playlist for Lillith. It also exemplifies Lillith’s principles: be kind, beware, be good, don’t be scared and Lillith’s ambitions: the future will be hers, where she doesn’t have to respect gods or masters.
The next few songs, I Am the Fire by Halestorm, Bitch Better Have My Money by Rihanna, Temptation Waits by Garbage, Love Bites (So Do I) by Halestorm are about Lillith’s vicious side and how she takes swift and extreme revenge on people who hurt her girls and boys.
