It’s not Fallout nor Overwatch related, but months after months without drawing I ended up doing this. Since first time seeing Hildryn in the game, I wanted to draw something of these two together. And here it is.
It took way too long honestly and also tested iPad for the first time. I’m surprised how it turned out. Hope you like it!
So, I got past invisible world border [the thing that says “you cannot go that way!” whenever you hit it] and this is a collection of what I found past those borders. This will be quite a long post so for the sake of the mobile users my small journey starts under keep reading:
My long road started at The Mire, where I got out. After a while being outside lighting/shaders didn’t work as they are intended, making some of the areas look really different.
From The Mire I found these two locations. First one had Tinker’s workbench and both locations had some basic loot like food and junk you could collect.
These two were pretty much only buildings that I found, but there might be more. Area outside of the bounds is wide and I didn’t have the time to sniff around every possible mountain there was [would take forever, haha].
Between The Mire and Cranberry Bog.
Next stop after that was lake that I found right behind Fissure Site Prime [place that Queen spawns at for those not familiar with the so called “end game”]. I’m not completely sure if you can see this lake, but I don’t recall seeing it myself. Someone happened to launch a nuke so clip is showing the lake itself and then waiting for the nuke. It’s not like you’ll watch nuke being dropped while you’re out of bounds everyday, right?
This was found a little bit into Savage Divide. Trees mostly are same with the Divide, but ground mostly reminds me of The Forest.
[Tumblr allows only 5 videos/post so I leave links for less interesting clips]
River that divides The Forest and Ash Heap. Nothing special, but took a clip of it anyway.
Some floating rocks and trees little bit after the river above.
Then comes one of the interesting parts - Point Pleasant’s [in]famous cargobots that fly around and can be seen from the river bank at Point Pleasant. They can’t be shot from there, because of the invisible world border.
But what happens when you are on the same side of that border? You can finally shoot ‘em down!
After shooting some bots, I followed the road to see if it leads to somewhere, but as expected, it didn’t;
River at the left corner of the map. Same as with the first river - nothing special going on there either.
Another region change - from The Forest to the Toxic Valley. I don’t know about you, but these trees look nice at the Forest like area. Area out of the bounds [as in ‘above’ the Toxic Valley] never really changed to how Toxic Valley looks like. Same happened with the Ash Heap.
After this. I didn’t see anything really worth of mentioning or pictures. My round around the map was completed, but my journey wasn’t.
It was time to see can we reach those far away mountains that can be just seen from playable area!
Once you get “over the map” you start falling through the floor, because collision ends there. So it’s impossible to move further away from that unless you glitch yourself after falling and start walking on air. With this glitch I was able to keep on going further, past the map’s edge;
Once I got past the screen edge, game tried to teleport me somewhere but crashed after loading screen.
So, that was sadly end of my journey out of bounds that time.
May we all pray and thank The Holy Tree that descended from the heaven to show me the light and kept me safe on my journey out of bounds!
If you have any questions regarding my journey, please feel free to ask!
Here’s some small things I noticed besides visuals;
- Music didn’t work most of the time [Point Pleasant being exception]
- When music glitched, placing a waypoint caused it to play “banjo” sound instead of normal tap sound.
- Music/visual turn back to normal once you go “on the right side” of the border.
Some nice shots with not so new friends from streaming community!
I’ve had tons of fun with all new people I’ve met on this road already. Feels like only now I’ve actually experienced what it is to play with group of pals and not just few friends.
And I absolutely love that first shot from NW ngl.
