Hello hello hello I just watched the Pitt and I would LOVE to hear your thoughts
Picture this: 2 borrowers living in the hospital. Why they are... I don't know. Maybe there's a colony? Idk but it's not a great place to live especially if ur like 4 inches tall LOL
The scenario that I've been cooking up is Borrower A gets sick and B, terrified for their friend/comrade/lover/family member/whatever u want them to be, goes out and gets medicine for them. Only problem is... not only are they not great at reading, but they don't know what does what.
Enter the PTMC ER staff. And go from there!
The dynamic really depends on what the borrower is like -- are they shy and terrified, which opens up angst/hurt-comfort? Or combative, which leads to fearplay? And it also depends on the character! Here are my thoughts (imagine Borrower B is stereotypical scaredy-type):
Dr. Robby: who is having the worst day of his life, finding this strange little creature cowering in the medicine cabinet... initially he's like "Wtf" but once the borrower starts freaking out he's soo great at consoling them
Nurse Dana is ofc so mother and isn't really concerned about their size, more just a) why are you literally so gaunt-looking Sweet Baby Jesus you need to eat and b) why are you literally living in an ER. Like that's so dangerous
With Abbot, I can imagine him doing his usual gruffness and sarcasm get-up, maybe even teasing them at first (his brain goes on autopilot) but he immediately softens up once the borrower gets upset.
Langdon is... I can't really read him, honestly. With the way he is usually, I can picture him being super stern and probably the type to jar a borrower (yikes) which will of course lead to the entire staff catching on. At the same time with the way he is with Mel, he could also have a soft spot for a borrower
Whitaker, Santos, and Javadi OMG. Besties to the max. Javadi is prob the most freaked out (not like omg ew but like wtf tiny people) and the borrower probably reminds Santos a lot of Whitaker (real) and they'd all get on like a forest fire.
Mohan? SUCH an older sibling. Protective without being demeaning, kind, and also weirdly adaptable to borrower culture? Would be an absolute angel.
These are just some character thoughts... I could go on and on and on but I only have so much time. There's also the matter of when Borrower A finally gets better and discovers what their friend has gotten up to...
i turn 20 in a week what the fuck like i have an a.s. & a job but i never rly expected to see 18 or even graduate high school what the fuck this is goddamn surreal holy shit
*face palms* I was a fool and accidentally wrote Day 6 twice but for different prompts...
ANYWAYS!!
Well... since I can rant about whatever I want... I think I’m just going to take the time and rant about how much I absolutely adore this ship.
In a way, I consider TaiYama to be my real first ship. I was completely invested in the couple, and they inspired to make me be creative myself. I drew lots of fanart (in my sketchbook) and wrote quite a bit of fanfictions (I wrote a little over 20 one-shots/chapter stories for these guys). Yeah I typically fell into the “make-Yamato-really-weak-and-submissive” and “Taichi-is-the-big-strong-man”, but it was a learning point for me and I really grew from it.
I also think TaiYama opened up my fondness of the “rivals to lovers” couples (see Klance and Stony), because as I mentioned back in Day 1, you can just see how much their relationship progresses. Just watching the series and seeing how they go from disagreeing with each other, to becoming friends, then becoming a person that means a great deal to them.
I really hope we get some good stuff in the future with the last few movies coming out in Digimon Tri. Part of me is screaming and has full confidence that they’re going to be canon (and fix the crummy ending for the 2nd season of Digimon), and the other part just pats the excited half on the head and says, “Don’t count on it.” But even if they left it pretty open and unanswered, that’d probably be enough for me to call it canon and be happy.
Can we talk about the long term, long-cherished fantasies you have to grieve in order to move on with life? The things that make you want to cry because the possibility that you'll never get them means letting go of such a huge, constant source of comfort? The things that make you want to dig your heels in, scream and wail to the sky because you can't even live a healthy life with them anymore, but damn do you feel like letting go is like letting part of your identity float away??
Dammit, I love the way I look at the world, I love my creativity, but I also wonder why it has to be so extra damn hard just to make and keep friends and to never *ever* know what you're doing so differently than anyone else. It seems I literally *cannot* make deep connections with peers who aren't some flavour of neurodivergence or otherwise disabled. I could be as fun, talented, interesting and authentic as possible, and yet all those qualities can also apply to a fancy little fish in an aquarium that you just... leave behind when you're done.
Late diagnosis autism is just... confirmation that most new people you meet will probably notice something 'off' and use that subconscious thought to put you out of their mind once you're out of sight, because it's always been this way, you were just too naive to see it. That you're missing some ridiculous 'vibe'. Of wondering if anyone who you get along with unusually well might secretly be neurodivergent too because you have that little faith in neurotypicals.
I just don't know how I'm supposed to move on with this when it really does feel like my social skills have just... atrophied. Withered away.
If anyone has any tips at all, that would be greatly appreciated.
