BIRTHDAY ASKS. @mutansgenetica​ asked:  a plain card, with neatly written ‘happy birthday, darling.’ on the inside. beneath it, a hardcover copy of ‘an archaeology of images’. happy birthday, jack.

IT TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO HOLD BACK A RATHER EXCITED SQUEAL OF SORTS. and oh, doesn’t he feel spoilt as digits soothe over the glossy hardback cover of the book like in a trance. grin stretches from ear to ear, tips of them cover a slight dusting of red which happened whenever he was in awe  ;  heart thumps loudly against his chest with admiration. this was going straight into his office to sit and read later in the day, a place already being imagined on the bookcase situated behind the desk proudly put on show for everyone. yeah. this was a fantastic birthday.  ❛  thank you, charles. i- i really mean it. i’m a bit speechless come to think ‘f it.  ❜

   So,   CURIOSITY   would   not   KILL   the   Cat   after   all.   It   was   far   less   poetic   than   that:   a   bullet   lodged   somewhere   far   too   difficult   for   claws   to   SCRATCH   at.   The   transition   from   the   doorway   to   the   couch   was   one   she   can’t   remember   making;   helping   hands   not   ones   she   was   used   to.   Go   figure,   the   blonde   would   go   out   like   this.   TOO   SLOW   for   her   own   good.   “No   good   deeds,   right?”   Smile   stretches   past   stained,   bloody   teeth.   Oh   what   a   SIGHT   she   must   be!   Gloved   paw   slips   from   clutching   wound   and   over   to   his   to   GRIP   onto   it.   Give   her   one   last   THING   to   hold   onto.   “You   got   me.”

      CAT!   You   are   a   wicked   thing.   “You   do   your   thing.”   Voice   is   LOW   and   oh   so   soft   to   the   touch.   Silken   is   one   thing.   Luxurious,   sure.   It   was   also   a   useful   fabric   to   STRANGLE   if   need   be.   As   much   as   she   sounded   gentle   -   hey,   maybe   even   nonchalant,   the   blonde   is   RIDDLED   with   rot.   “Never   wanted   a   future,   fuck   if   I   knew   how   to   put   it   romantic.”

@mutansgenetica​   sent:   ‘merry   christmas,   darling,’   charles   extends   a   carefully   wrapped   box   towards   her,   containing   an   EXPENSIVE   jewelry   set,   because   why   not.

      Second   to   the   THRILL   of   swiping   something   sparkly   from   a   vault,   this   brought   a   characteristically   cheshire   grin   to   the   feline’s   face.   Mischief   cracks   around   her   like   a   WHIP.   Surely,   if   she   had   a   tail   it   would   be   swishing   lowl   in   appreciation.   For   now,   all   he   has   to   go   on   is   the   playful   glint   in   her   eye.   “Trying   to   BRIBE   me?”   Words   like   honey   are   paired   with   a   kiss   to   the   other’s   jawline.   Deft   fingers   pulled   ribbon   to   open   the   present,   face   to   face   with   a   GIRL’S   BEST   FRIEND.   “Diamonds,   hmm?   I   must’ve   been   really   GOOD   this   year.”   Clever   cat.

      “Here   I   thought   I   was   supposed   to   be   the   DISTRACTING   one.”   An   arm   reaches   around   his   shoulders   to   encircle   him   there   -   between   her   and   the   mistletoe   currently   dangling   overhead.   “I   should’ve   known   that   being   roped   into   HOLIDAY   decorating   would   lead   to   my   untimely   DEMISE.”   If   this   was   how   she   went   out,   the   Cat   supposed   it   wouldn’t   be   so   bad   after   all.   That   sly   smile   of   hers   was   sealed   with   a   KISS   as   the   blonde   pressed   her   mouth   to   his.   “Merry   Christmas,   Charles.”
