I've been seeing comments about donnie using chatgpt, for example, "He would never!" "Not my donnie!" And please just shut up. This whole movie is making fun of AI, dude. The name of the toy company is literally "Authentic Imitations" Aka AI.

I keep seeing folks freaking out about Donnie in the new MM trailer using AI and I seriously dont get it.

For the record, I'm about as anti generative artificial intelligence as one gets. As an artist, I absolutely loathe it.

However, it's important to recognize how popular AI (particularly ChatGPT) usage has gotten in recent years, especially among teens. Donnie asking for gift ideas from ChatGPT does not mean Mutant Mayhem 2 is pro-AI, they are just trying to accurately depict teenagers.

Also, I have seen quite a few people claiming that Donnie would NEVER be pro-AI... I'm sorry, but being the tech nerd is every Donatellos' main character trait. He has literally built Artificial Intelligence models in many iterations, be it Metal Head or Shelldon. MM Donnie using ChatGPT is VERY true to his character.

Again, I am about as strong as an AI hater as one gets, but Donnie's use of ChatGPT is perfectly in character and I think the reaction to it is a tad unreasonable.

What i really appreciated about mutant mayhem is how wonky and "imperfect" a lot of the character designs are. The human characters have bumps on their faces, they have asymmetrical facial features, crooked noses etc. I love to see this kind of variety in animation where smooth squeaky clean disney faces have ruled 3d animation for so long
