Actually, Simone has stated, on scans_daily and several other places, very courteously while praising the movie, that she felt the handling of feminism in the movie was very "second-wave" and it was not how she wrote it. It was rewritten from her original draft. By some dude. I'm sure if you work hard enough you can find it around the web (as well as parts of her original draft), I'm not digging it up for you to prove some point.
So, even if you think Gail Simone can do no wrong (which I do not), it was not purely her vision or anything and she felt the handling of feminism was very basic. Actually, all the things I liked from the movie (Artemis's personality etc) seem to be in her original draft, so it's down to Gail the movie has any redeeming qualities at all.
You can have whatever opinion on the movie you want, but the fact was a guy rewrote the script to include some "but what about the men" bullshit.
