It can rarely be done correctly. I really don't like it most of the time. I think it's not good red or pale. It's an okay pitch ship.
I think it's most interesting pitch. It's very clear that in the comic she's using sollux's emotional problems for her own gain. from what little I've seen from fandom depiction it's usually not done in a way I can agree with.
