Jupiter 2k19 Vday Drabble

Jupiter had a lot of people in her life that she held dear. She had a lot of people that she viewed as older brothers as sisters who looked after her. There were also those that she looked upon as a teacher of sorts.
Kajika was one of such people that she viewed as an older sibling as well as being a friend. They may have a large age gap between the two of them, but that didn’t stop Jupiter from befriending the other. A lot of the people she was very close to were much older than her anyways. To the point that she found it easier to get along with people older than her than she could make friends with people in her age group.
The way the two met was… in some roundabout way… through Ponsol? Kajika knew about Jupiter from hearing about her from Ponsol, and she went to visit the school Jupiter attended. She would often greet her and talk to her as Jupiter was waiting for a parent to pick her up.
Over time, the two of them became friends and Jupiter became attached to her. The older woman was very outgoing and she was very adventurous. She was also very nice! She enjoyed flowers and that was probably what started her friendship with Ponsol. Anyone who was a friend of Ponsol could be a friend of hers. Jupiter didn’t know if Kajika knew Shugarl or not, but she was willing to bet that Shugarl was okay with her.
Anyone who was able to ‘tolerate that brat’ (his words, not hers), had to be a good person. It was because of the fact she knew that Ponsol and Kajika were friends that she was able to warm up to the other so quickly.
As usual, she was waiting outside of the school, waiting to be picked up, while also keeping her eye out for the older woman. She didn’t come around to visit every day, but she did whenever she had the chance.
Upon seeing a familiar face, Jupiter’s face lit up and she ran over to Kajika, to give her a bear hug as a greeting. It was great that she was able to see her today!
Not wanting to risk the chocolates getting ruined in her locker, she asked that one of her parents to bring the chocolates with them for when they came to pick her up.
[Can you wait a bit longer today? I have something to give you, and my parent will bring it with them.]
Being the understanding person that she was, she was open to the idea of waiting for whatever it was that Jupiter had prepared for her. Curiosity was also a factor for why she stayed behind for an extra few minutes. Just a couple of extra minutes wasn’t going to be a big deal, anyways.
The two talked about random things as they waited for someone to pick Jupiter up from school. Their conversations consisted of the usual banter: How have you been recently? Are you doing well in school? Is Ponsol being a gentleman? If not, tattle to Jupiter and she’ll nag him to be nicer.
A car rolled up to the side and it was… Jupiter’s mother who came to pick her up today! “Hello Miss Kajika.” The woman greeted Kajika with a warm smile before she handed what looked like a bouquet of flowers to Jupiter.
They only looked like a bouquet of flowers at first because they were wrapped up like flowers would be in colorful paper. Jupiter made some chocolate lollipops, and they were shaped like flowers! She used flower shaped molds and then she put green candy sticks to hold up the chocolates. The sticks had fake paper leaves taped to the sticks to make chocolate flowers. She made a dozen of these chocolate flowers wrapped in plastic wrap to prevent the chocolates from touching each other and melting into each other if the temperature gets warm enough for them to melt.
She handed the chocolate-bouquet to Kajika with a bright smile.

What better way to thank a person who loves flowers… than to make chocolates shaped like flowers? The young girl looked so proud as she flipped the page of her notebook:
[I made them myself with help from my mother! I hope you like them!]
She was practically buzzing off with all her excited energy. She really hoped that Kajika would enjoy the chocolates and be just as excited as she was about how they turned out. While they didn’t look realistic, they were cute! She worked very hard on presentation, so it could surprise anyone at first before they realized the flowers were actually chocolate lollipops!

Kajika always enjoyed spending time with her friends but it had to said that she had a special place in her heart for Jupiter. With her innocent smile and tender heart, she was not only lovable on the whole but was like the little sister she never had. It seemed her young friend had that effect on many people.
Enjoying her company as much as she did, Kajika did her best to squeeze in time to see her whenever possible and Jupiter’s expression of joy that usually greeted her always made the effort worth it. Today was no different and she gladly welcomed the bear hug bestowed upon her.
Upon hearing Jupiter’s request to wait a while, it was easy to agree for she could never say no to spending extra time with her friend. Curiosity, of course, also played a role but try as she might to wheedle information from the younger girl regarding the surprise gift... she wouldn’t budge. Eventually Kajika gave up with a laugh and resigned herself to wait in suspense, turning the conversation to other topics.
In seemingly no time at all, her mother appeared bearing the mysterious gift which was then revealed to be a bouquet of flowers. The russet haired teen was pleasantly surprised to discover that they weren’t ordinary flowers at all but made of chocolate. Handmade no less.
Wasn’t today Valentine’s Day?
She really was impressed with the effort that had gone into making her chocolate flowers and was even more touched at the thoughtfulness of her young friend. With a beaming smile she quickly gave the younger girl a big hug, being very careful not to crush her bouquet in the process.
“Thank you so much!! These are so pretty I’m going to have a hard time eating them~”
