‘권력'에 대한 우리의 정신적, 문화적 틀은 여전히 남성 중심적이다. 여성의 공적 발언권과 권력을 찾기 위해서는 여성의 배제를 정당화하는 '권력의 문화적 구조'까지 재정의해야 한다. 권력을 차지하는 것이 중요한 것이 아니라, 권력에 대한 수사修辭의 작동 규칙과 지배 구조 자체를 해체하는 것이 우선이다. “바꿔야 하는 것은 구조 자체다. 구조 자체를 바꾼다는 것은 권력을 다르게 사유하는 것이며, 권력을 다르게 사유한다는 것은 권력을 공적 명망에서 떼어놓는 것을 뜻한다. 이는 리더뿐 아니라 리더 뒤에 있는 사람들의 힘을 협력적으로 사유함을 의미한다. 권력을 소유물이 아니라 하나의 속성, 심지어 동사(‘권력하다’)로까지 사유하는 것이 권력에 대한 새로운 사유다. 내가 염두에 두고 있는 것은 효력을 발생시킬 수 있는 능력, 세상에 변화를 만들어낼 수 있는 역량, 그리고 개인으로서뿐 아니라 집단으로 진지하게 받아들여질 권리다. you have to change the structure.
