THIS IS THE LAST ONE THAT WAS A HECKIN MARATHON WHATTT @sereina asked: what's the worst injury jay has suffered, whether it was from a fight or otherwise? does he know first aid, or does he rely on medical professionals if he gets hurt? or does he just grin and bear it until it heals?
Oh boy I’ve joked about injuries just recently but there’s a few things that come to mind.
Jay does know first aid, but he also knows very well where his knowledge is faulty and when it’s time to rely on an actual professional (usually street docs, since he’d rather not show up in an actual hospital). So he knows when something is minor and can be ignored until it heals, and when something needs to be looked at.
That being said, his worse injury happened during the first year he spent at Aqua (god bless he had access to a medic in there). He was working on his stuff, got a biiiiiiiit distracted and the saw went straight through his right pinkie, straight in the middle. Which, of course, chopped it RIGHT OFF. Now Jay may not feel pain until a certain threshold, but THAT exceeded it and he DEFINITELY felt it. (He may also have caused Matt to faint.) With Pokémon healing technologies as it is and acting fast enough, they could reattach it just fine and it regained maybe 90% of its function (thank you Pokémon technology and temporary Ditto tissue holding everything together). He has a scar from it, which is hidden by a black band tattooed around his finger.
He also likes to remind Matt about it for the sake of seeing the FACES he makes.

Worst disease or temporary illness you ever caught
Jay once got influenza but dragged it on and on because he’s a dumbass who can’t relax when he’s told to, even when he’s shaky with fever. It ended up turning into pneumonia, which sucks A LOT—diagnosing him was hard at first too, since his fucked up pain perception neglected one of the flu symptoms that could’ve helped identify the illness earlier and avoided complications. What sucks less is that he was employed by Aqua at the moment, and had access to medical care, so he ended up being able to heal just fine. He does acknowledge that it could’ve been real bad if he had still been in the streets.
If you had to lose a limb, which would you pick, and why?
If we go any size, he’d pick one of the middle toes, maybe the third one. The pinkie toe, although small, does a great deal for balance when you consider your foot as a three-point balance system (heel, big toe, pinky toe). If we have to go with major limbs, and with the advancement of prostheses in a world that is slightly futuristic (hello Pokemon world, you ARE futuristic af) with Pokémon science to boot, he could handle himself losing a leg under the knee. Or even both. His dumb ass would probably think like ‘hey sweet, I can cheat the system and gain an inch or two wearing these bad boys.’ Good sense of priorities there.
If Jay had to lose one of his senses, which would he kiss goodbye?
Jay is a practical person. In evaluating his lifestyle and what is most useful to him, and pushing away all the things he actually likes/hobbies he has, and I’m not saying it would be an easy choice. It’d be a hard one, but he’d pick taste in the end. Which is sad, for someone who loves cooking, but all other senses are more critical to his survival and therefore he will prioritize them.
Ironic, don’t you think?

So, I had the passing thought that it would really suck if MM!Ryou lost his right hand, considering his left is practically useless. And then the Internet was down in class today and I needed stuff to do… So this happened~. Tbh MM!Ryou is super fun to draw, and I loved having an excuse to show off some of his little details, like the glass eye and his habit of wearing two-toned clothes~. His tie is gonna be lavender tho if I ever colour it~.
