A loud gasp left the blonde’s lips and she shot up abruptly, blue eyes wide as she took in her surroundings. Her hands immediately flew to her neck, vaguely remembering the sensation of a hand wrapping around it and squeezing until it snapped, but she couldn’t remember exactly what happened. Her mind was too busy going a thousand miles a minute. Did she pass out? Did she fall asleep? What was wrong with her? Why couldn’t she remember anything that happened?
Her eyes scanned the room until they landed on a familiar face: her father. Immediately she felt herself relaxed, calmed down by his presence. He always had a calming effect on her, and this time wasn’t any different. “Dad.. What happened?” She reached out to touch him, her hand wrapping around his.
She frowned when their hands met, her skin brushing against his. Nothing. What? She squeezed his hand. There was nothing there. No spark or surge of energy like she usually felt when she touched her father, or any supernatural being for that matter. It was like.. It was like she lost her magic. A feeling of dread washed over her at that thought. No more magic.
“What happened to me?” She asked again, this time her voice quiet and void of any emotion.
