Hey hello!
Sooo the gov just cut our SNAP/food stamps down to $200 from $500 for no apparent reason. (I checked everything over and our info is accurate so idk) $200 is maybe about 4 bags of groceries in my area, which is not actually enough food for two people for a month these days, never mind two people with very specific food needs. (MCAS/gastropesis/diabetes) I was already paying $100-200 a month for food and stuff like toilet paper, but now with the ruralness + gas issues caused by said gov + stores upcharging for rotting foods… yeah. I’m kind of fucked. (Oh. And that same gov cut all our foodbanks so we’re all kind of fucked!)
That being said, I’ve updated my Throne wishlist with a few more food items, some tp, and some gift cards. (As always, apologies for using Walmart. They won the rural grocery store monopoly war and it’s the only place to get not-as-rotten food at slightly-less-prices.) Some of the stuff is also house-fixing related, and not as big of a need. But, y’know. Threw it in there for fun.
I’ll also be updating later today to properly thank folks who already helped me out via the wishlist! I’ve got a good ‘haul’ of pain relief stuff and food for the kitties! I just need something on my nails to clack against them. 💅
