Based on the shrines you've done in tears so far, how do you think the difficulty of the shrines compares to botw's?

Oo yeah i can answer that one! Most of your questions are sitting in my drafts until I have a good chunk of time to write a worthy answer fjdjdjdjdndndne

Short answer: much more complicated, not necessarily harder, per se.

Longer answer: botw shrines never Stumped me. I have done all 120 shrines at least once, and while there were shrines that Took Me Awhile, it was never because i genuinely didn't know what to do, or got stuck, it was because I didn't have enough arrows, or I ran out of swords, or the motion controls had me by the throat.

I've only done a few dozen of totk's shrines yet and yet I can think of three separate times when I got Genuinely Stuck and had to sit and think for several minutes, trying things, talking it out, bellyaching to a friend on discord that I couldn't understand what it was asking me to do- and then, after boiling on it for a while, got a lightbulb moment, and the shrine suddenly made sense. And once it made sense, it was a cakewalk.

So. Is that harder? Idk. What's your metric for 'hard'? Totk's are more challenging, to me, and definitely count as more complicated. The win conditions are more specific, and you have to get it Right rather than bumbling into some variation that Works.

I sincerely doubt there are any lightning traps you can set off in the strength trial equivalents, for example 🤣

How goes the chaos in tears?

I have gotten the skydiving pants, now, too, and I'm terribly fond of the diving challenges. I finally (oops) remembered to go talk to robbie and got the camera rune dbdjdksk. I blasted my way through the secret tunnel into hyrule castle. Ummmm I found a third sage's will orb- and got thoroughly stuck in the shrine where you're supposed to sneak in unarmed and pick the dudes off stealthily cus I misunderstood it, went at it with a mindset born of playing too much of the ezio collection, and reset every time I got seen cus I thought that meant I wouldn't be able to lose them fhdjdjsnsm

about youtube ads, are you on android on iphone ? if you're on android there's some alternate youtube client that get past the ad thing, and the forced pause when you lock your phone or look away thing, i use newpipe personally its been holding up fine

So I gotta ask, what are your thoughts on the enemies in tears? Both in general, and like , any enemies that you have thoughts™ on?

i'm mostly gonna have to get back to you on this one when i've fought more of them fhdjfshflh i'm under-equipped much of the time, and i keep bumbling into areas with black and silver 'blins, so i wouldn't be able to take down more than one or two before i'd broken everything in my inventory.

that being said, i'm very very much a bow player- and many of these newer enemies are Delightful to fight while falling from the air or from long long distance. the construct bosses are extremely fun as long as i have a ledge i can clamber on to to interrupt the rolling cube phase, the constructs all have bullseyes taped to their foreheads, there's still a free golden bow in the cave by the old gerudo tower except now its a gerudo bow and does twice as much damage, i'm in heaven hfjlsdhfjlshl

i figured out the trick to gibdos by accident cus i happened to have a fire rod equipped at the time, i wouldn't have realized that i Had to do elemental damage to make them vulnerable without the loading screen tips later hfdlfhsl

there's been a number of times where i saw something off in the distance in the depths and went lol nope and fucked off before i could get a good idea of what it was- i knew what the lynel was cus duh but there was something that looked like a massive version of those slug creatures from a distance maybe? didn't touch it. also the bone pits. fell down that cus i have a map marker down there and i wanted to see what the goodie was, was immediately surrounded by bones, and teleported out fdlfhsjlf

oo on the topic of the gibdos i'm hoping to pete that that means there's region specific mobs cus that's so cool- it seems like the gibdos are only in gerudo desert, and so if that's true, there might be region specific mobs in eldin and lanayru, too- don't tell me if there are, i want to find them if so, but i hope so i hope so

i think the constructs are easy to fight, and definitely what you're being encouraged to fight at these low levels. very glass canon enemies, they can deal a fair bit of damage, but they cant take much. i think the 'blins are almost all leveled up at least a bit, and i think you're probably meant to be playing this game more stealthily than botw, to a degree, because a lot of the time you'll need the sneak attack bonus to actually take them down without breaking all your weapons. i think the marching 'blins with the boss blin are fun puzzles to get around, but i've only actually killed two of them- the necessary one at the hyrule tower, and one in hebra.

i think the talus's confuse and maybe even disappoint me just the tiniest bit because i got used to abusing them for gems and thus rupees and now they don't drop nearly as many as they used to- haven't had the chutzpah to take on one of the battle talus's yet fsdfhldhssl

have yet to fight a lynel, have yet to fight a hinox, i am constantly constantly running out of arrows fhsdlshfl its a good game
