K so I saw your tags on that Victorian era post you reblogged, what's Peaky Blinders? It sounds cool!
omg ok yay!! its this amazing show made by Netflix and its about a 1920s crime family from Birmingham, England, called the Shelbys, and their gang, the Peaky Blinders. The show starts a few years after the end of WWI right as the middle brother, Tommy Shelby takes over as head of the family.
ive answered another question about the show so imma copy paste my summary because it was pretty good i thought:
So the show as a whole is basically about Tommy (who is seriously beautiful btw) and his struggle to expand his family’s business all while fighting his PTSD from WWI, a cop that’s come from Belfast to eliminate the crime in Birmingham, rival gangs, and his feelings for a mysterious barmaid that develop in spite of his better judgement. It also makes references to the political struggles of the era, like the Irish Revolution and communism in the UK and such, which is pretty cool if you like history at all!
The women are badass, the men aren’t the usual gangster type brutes that are void of feeling, and the cinematography and just the whole style of it are amazing!!! It creates a world that just sucks you in and you just want to stay there forever.
pls pls pls watch it. its amazing and u can watch it on netflix :) and talk to me while u watch it if u do!!!!
