The beautiful #DooLoughValley in Co. Mayo is a famine memorial ground marked with a plain stone cross marked "Doolough Tragedy 1849". An annual walk is held to remember those that died and to highlight starvation of the world's poor to the present day. We came upon this site driving along the #Mweelrea mountain and #SheeffreyHills. Meeweelrwa Snow Peak from Diamond Holl. This is one of the images I took from the top of Diamond Hill in Connemara National Park this week. Anyone that has been to Connemara before knows that the landscape doesn’t usually portrait itself in this way.
