Me rockin' out last summer at the Mark Wood Rock Orchestra Festival!
I’m getting SUPER PUMPED to arrange a TMBG song for electric string ensemble.
The 10th Annual Mark Wood Rock Orchestra Music Festival. Empowering musicians of all ages to think and act creatively in today's world.
My music friends/family picked a very select group of string players to play with them in their faculty concert and I am one of them! We are playing "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd and "Forty Six and Two" by Tool. The arrangements are wonderful, and were written by Chuck and David. The Tool song is one of the most difficult things I've ever learned. Chuck Bontrager is concertmaster for Hamilton Chicago and David Wallace is a composer and string faculty chair at Berklee. Some of the other people in the string section are on the faculty here at MWROC and are also very prominent electric strings players and heroes of mine. This is the biggest honor ever! I'm looking forward to this concert very much!

I’m going to throw out some indie artists that need some recognition! I could go on and on about unknown/indie people that I listen to These people are amazing and put some high quality music, and I highly recommend these three songs:
1. We are the Dreamers by Merry Ellen Kirk (amazing singer, she puts a unique spin on indie pop and romantic songwriting.)2. Isle of the Sky Spirits by Master Sword (they are a zelda heavy metal tribute band! So good! Even if you don’t listen to zelda their songs are very creative and branch out from the original game themes)3. Level Up by Val Vigoda (this is actually a cover originally by Vienna Teng which is beautiful by the way, but Val Vigoda brings so much happiness and life to this song. She is the woman who inspired me to live loop electric violin, and I was so happy to learn from her at the annual MWROC camp last year. She is so inspirational to me!!)
