I'd love to hear about your music!!! :0 Can you tell me about the Walton Studio Version WIP?

Of course! This project is in the idea phase right now, do I don't have anything to show, but it's something I'm hoping to start working on soon!

The main project is a (home) studio recording of the classical Walton Viola Concerto on my electric viola with funky effects. (It was on my recent recital, but I didn't get the full concerto in the recording, which is a shame.) I think that having a polished recording of an electric rendition of a prestigious viola concerto that showcases the extended expressive capabilities of electric strings would be a pretty important scholarly step for electric strings, so it's an exciting project to work on!

The 10th Annual Mark Wood Rock Orchestra Music Festival. Empowering musicians of all ages to think and act creatively in today's world.

My music friends/family picked a very select group of string players to play with them in their faculty concert and I am one of them! We are playing "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd and "Forty Six and Two" by Tool. The arrangements are wonderful, and were written by Chuck and David. The Tool song is one of the most difficult things I've ever learned. Chuck Bontrager is concertmaster for Hamilton Chicago and David Wallace is a composer and string faculty chair at Berklee. Some of the other people in the string section are on the faculty here at MWROC and are also very prominent electric strings players and heroes of mine. This is the biggest honor ever! I'm looking forward to this concert very much!

Have you ever seen a bunch of world class orch dorks rock out to Black Sabbath? Most of these musicians are family to me. Most of these musicians are what we string players call "String Famous." I'm so happy for all of them, and excited for the future of strings!

Yamaha E-String Recording As part of the pre-production for the upcoming ‘Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of The Worlds’ Theatre production at the dominion theatre, we spent the day recording an orchestra of 13 E-Strings - the first of this size in the world. Line-up: 4x 1st Violins, 4x 2nd Violins, 2x Viola, 2x Celli, 1x Double Bass & 1 Conductor
