The white color meant mourning. Everyone from the Central Plains knew it. Qi Zhikan had been wearing simple clothes for several months, grieving for his father, when an unexpected guest came to his house. In the white robes of the newcomer, Qi Zhikan found the reflection of his own mourning. When he got to the court, he immediately noticed the immensity of whiteness around him. Not only Jian Bin, but all the ministers and dignitaries wore the same color. Qi Zhikan got used to it, but couldn't understand it. He never dared to ask what exactly Tianji is grieving for. * POLISH VERSION Biały kolor oznaczał żałobę. Dobrze wiedzieli o tym wszyscy mieszkańcy Centralnych Równin. Qi Zhikan od kilku miesięcy nosił proste, jasne stroje, wspomnienie śmierci ojca, kiedy do jego domu trafił nieoczekiwany gość, który wywrócił jego życie do góry nogami. W białych szatach przybysza Qi Zhikan odnalazł odbicie własnej żałoby. Może właśnie to ich połączyło. Kiedy trafił na dwór, od razu zauważył ogrom bieli wokół siebie. Nie tylko Jian Bin, ale ministrowie, dostojnicy, wszyscy pełniący ważniejsze funkcje nosili ten sam kolor. Qi Zhikan przywykł do tego, choć nie był w stanie zrozumieć. Nigdy nie zadał na głos pytania, co właściwie opłakuje Tianji.
