We spent a few day’s out at the Victory Sports Race at S.O.B.M.X this past weekend. April 9-10th 2016. I captured a very unfortunate situation that caused Steven Willis Age 17 Racing in the C-Class to Get a good taste of the SOBMX SandBurger! I reached out to him to find out what really happened and he said...
“ The Steering Stem Bolts Stripped out at the Face of the Jump causing me to lose control , my bars and upper triple clamp fell off when i landed. The day before I noticed some chattering in the front end and we tried to tighten the nut, after we checked it and everything looked and felt great.
“Sunday we raced and kept our eye on the steering stem nuts, but in the end result everything went south in a hurry.”
I have see seen some bad crashes but I have never seen someone be lucky to walk off from a bizarre incident like the one captured here. Let alone see a pile off parts pilled up as seen above.
