Thanks so much! I had to think on this one for a long while. Some of this might not make sense to you, I'm writing a lot of The Dark Tower fic right now, I hope it's somewhat comprehensible.

It's always so hard to pick favorites, so I'll pick two from some more recent work. And for the sake of fun, they're from WIPs!
"It occurred to Cody that he was the same age as his men. There were quite possibly troopers older than him under his command. Any one of them could’ve been chosen to be a CC, and learn to command, and eventually lead. 17 was right. He was not inherently different from the rank and file."
From Gloria Chapter 10. It sort of gets to the heart of the shitty things that happened to the CCs and Cody deciding he deserves better than what he has.
"The thing about wind (ka like the wind) is that sometimes it changes directions."
From The Magnificent, WIP prequel oneshot to Seven Against the Red, a Dark Tower fic. SATR is an AU where Roland's five ka-mates (and his beloved, Susan Delgado) all survive to the start of the series. The Magnificent chronicles Susan's survival and the immediate aftermath. The above quote is a reference to the arc words of Wizard and Glass (the book in which Susan's romance w/ Roland and eventual death was described). Ka = fate, and ka, like the wind, comes in quickly and can destroy whatever life you built for yourself. I decided to draw upon a different aspect of wind to sort of get at the idea of her living in this AU.

Generally it's because there's a story I want to tell and often it's not one that I've seen in the fandom.
"I want a fic where Cody and the Bad Batch knew each other as cadets" = Gloria
"I want a fic following Kallus' offscreen disillusionment with the Empire and eventual turn to Fulcrum" = Pivot
"I want a No O66 fic that starts early in the War, makes the clones the primary changemakers, and centers them as the main characters. I want this fic to feature more realistic explorations of clone mental health, ableism, and culture." = In Good Company
"I want a fic where Arla Fett has a complicated relationship with clones" = Heartless Challenge
"I want a fic about Aileen Ritter. she's so cool" = Commala Oriza-Tete
"I want a fic where all of Roland's friends survive, including Aileen and Susan Delgado" = Seven Against the Red and its prequel The Magnificent

The main fics i'm working on right now
Still Life With Clone Armor = The Cut / Suu one shot. Fluffy farmhouse princess bride romance interrupted by C-PTSD
Seven Against the Red = Dark Tower series canon rewrite somebody lives au. The Man in Black fled across the desert and seven gunslingers followed.
The Magnificent = Prequel one-shot to Seven Against the Red. Susan Delgado lives. Hurt/comfort.
Waystation = post-canon of the DT movie (mid overall but a shitty adaptation). Start of a larger rewrite.
I have a bunch of goals for myself. I have a vague schedule, and this June it says to finish Pursuit and publish Cin Vhetin, which may or may not happen. Still Life, Cully, and SATR all have drafts rn on AO3 to try and encourage me to finish them.
As for other stuff, I'm trying to work on my prose. Fanfic doesn't tend to have a lot of description or prose but I want to get better at it. I'm trying to cut back on dialogue, and a lot of my WIPs (particularly the DT ones) are gaining longer paragraphs about worldbuilding and stuff.
