Please, I just love rambling random facts about Dany’s past and/or possible scenarios about her going off to mend her past after abruptly losing her parents when she was young. It’s sad and I put her through the ringer as a way for me to vent through emotions of self doubt, depression, anxiety, self worth and love and ranges of other negative emotions I’ve felt, etc. ;;w;;
I definitely show that a lot through her shadow ability, not really a gift, more so a manifestation of the negative environment she was in after her parents were killed. It’s a protector but also something parasitic that definitely hinders her at a certain point. However, does eventually become that greater power that allows her to defeat the monsters in human skin that took her away and inevitably brought on such a gift onto her.
Plus, a prominent anchor for her during that point in time is protecting her kids, Haru and Isa. Having to lay down her fears in order to keep them safe and from the same treatment she (and many other kids) had to endure.
Of course it happens more prominently in that specific Au I rambled about in the tags ;;w;; it’s a personal reflection story for Dany that goes into some one side AtsuDany at the start to DanyJay to endgame AtsuDany at the end of it all ;;;w;;;
I definitely put my s/I through a lot, again for the reasons above on how I view myself internally and based on experience or fabricated cause of sadness and all. Nonetheless, I hope to one day officially post that AtsuDany lore essay I have in my notes, it delves into Dany’s past a little and the more positive end to actual canon! Dany. While I’ll never fully detail some au’s I’ll definitely throw more of Dany’s backstory and after story here and there because I definitely love the full circle, character growth I have with her and her shadow ability. Finding herself and essentially setting herself free from the ones that tries to tie her down because of her ability (as well as her father’s ability).
