Talking about brusha once again! i find it interesting that with the new sprout dialog there are people arguing on whether or not brusha was trying to "break out of her coding"-
Like that is pretty blatantly what's being implied. her behavior "changed after her debut", her info card has no implication of her current personality, and honestly a lot of her interactions feel kind of... forced? Specifically in the way she is rude and egotistical towards others
The counter-argument I have seen is mainly that, if she wanted to break free from her purpose as a Toon, the first thing she should have done is stop creating art.
Because she's not really defined by her personality? Moreso she is "the artist Toon", she's a paintbrush etc
But honestly I could see that as part of why she's so frustrated and behaves the way she does.
She has to double-down even further on acting differently from her show self, because she can't get away from the core of her identity.
Which actually speaks to something else imo- I've seen her held up as proof that Toons can break out of their programming.
But when you look at her dialog, she's still talking about her art most of the time. It's likely she just doesn't have much else going on- but it's still worth noting.
If the crux of her character was just creating art- she hasn't broken out of anything. She still talks about it obsessively
This especially applies if it's true that she was made prior to her debut, i.e Arthur had the idea for her and asked for her to be made without as clear of an idea of her personality- where the WHOLE pitch for her would have just been that she's a painter
Thinking about it- if she made it clear that she was purposefully trying to act differently from her show self while Gardenview was running, it may somewhat explain why she painted Delilah (which to me always implied a connection to her)

Okay I'm basically done with this train of thought BUT. Another thing about Brusha being made before she had any appearance in the show / connection to Delilah (and tbh Dyle)
If Gardenview had been struggling with money, is it possible that Brusha was made as a "rush job" and more of an afterthought character so that she could be used as free labor?
Dyle was literally just made to handle the trains, and iirc it's implied quite a few of the Toons work in some way.
Brusha wouldn't have had a fanbase as a new character + maybe would have time prior to her show debut where she wouldn't have needed to make public appearances, where she could have been asked to instead make paintings and the like
Looking at the art floor I had the, admittedly unserious, headcanon that even the paintings not in Brusha's style were still painted by her (like the Dandy Lisa); and that her shift to only using specific purples coincided with her deciding to go against her show self.
I have 0 backing for this but it would honestly work well with this overall theory / headcanon
