Spring chickens

Grilled some dogs and brats before watching the storm roll in tonight. The girls hung out with us before bed, but I think they just really wanted some of our doritos

Finally got good enough weather to stain the new chicken coop we got recently! I did 2 coats over an 8 hour period across 2 days (about 4 hours each day) to thoroughly paint it from inside out.

We have 12 in our flock now. Of course wife keeps adding some here and there when I’m not looking lol. She let me name them this time so they all have sauce/food related names of course.

We have the 2 yellow buff orpingtons Sweet and Sour, silverlaced wyandotte as Teriyaki, goldlaced wyandotte as Honey BBQ, the lavender orpinton is Parmesan Garlic, the small bantams named Ketchup and Mustard, then the ones with little tufts on their heads (think they are polish?) we have Dijon, Sriracha, our yellow ameraucana as Ranch, and lastly our grey barred rock Hot Buffalo.

The small bantams named Mustard and Ketchup are so cute. We found out Ketchup is our only rooster so far and he just began crowing! My favorite so far is Parmesan, she is just so pretty!

Last but not least, my wife got some silkies that I named Salt and Pepper, because I had to! They are so cute!

I still miss our old flock very much, Maple, Willow, Cedar, and Sequoia were very special to us. Oak is our only survivor from the last flock.

She is a very strong hen and still rules the roost!

That’s all the updates I have for now on our little chicken family.
