Mind Control! Long Explanation! A lil bit of Rose’s family history and how it relates to what’s happening to here!

Unknown to Rose, she’s part of secret mercenary family that has existed before the Brotherhood called the Sniper Clan. The first leader, known to the clan as “Grandmother”, was a close friend of Demanitus. He made the legendary sword used by every clan leader throughout the years with a magical ruby embedded. The sword gives the wielder strange powers such telekinesis and fire powers. 
When Rose finds the sword, she gets to meet Grandmother’s soul and trains her to better control the powers of the sword. She also has to fight the angriest souls trapped inside the sword who want revenge on the Brotherhood. They try to get Rose so helplessly emotionally weak so they can take control and end the Brotherhood. Why? There’s some rivalry and hate between them but it isn’t completely mutual. Some clan leaders were compassionate to the Brotherhood and had attempted to end the rivalry but it never ends well. 
So here, the angriest souls managed to take control of Rose and rue to end the Brotherhood, especially Varian since he is both the son of a Brotherhood member and a deep emotional connection for Rose to further keep her under their thumb.
Also, I didn’t know the Brotherhood was a more recent thing so the backstory dates both groups to when Demanitus was alive.
