Hey I wanna show off my ham radio stuff looky:
I have an iCom IC-735 HF radio, with the antenna going through an auto-tuner, and a noice canceller (which i have yet to actually seen improve my RX, probably was a waste of money ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ). I have a Kenwood TM-V71A mobile radio for vhf & UHF, which has an old TNC packet modem attached.
Pretty proud of my audio setup; I wanted to be able to monitor on my headphones while using my PC, so I ran the headphone outputs on each radio to the unused line in jacks on my little baby USB sound mixer, as well as routing my mic audio back to them using the XLR jacks. I could also theoretically send PC audio out to them, too, but I dont have QUITE enough control with this little thing to do that without feeding it back to the PC input, so I'd have to mute myself if I'm in a call. Regardless, it was fun to set up!
I kept the Kenwood mic plugged in, because some controls, and direct frequency entry, require the DTMF mic. I got the mixer audio in via an extremely cursed RJ45 adapter that looks like a splitter, but all the pins on both "split" ports are connected through 1:1,I have literally no idea why anyone except me would use this lol.
This is all powered with a 12V, 125 AMP power supply I bolted the bottom of the desk. INSANE specs, medical grade, presumeably old stock, my buddy got them for a STEAL on ebay. I modded mine with noctua fans so it would be near silent. I figured it would be safe since I'll never draw more than 10 amps from it, probably. Model number is Artesy LCM1500L btw, if you wanted to keep an eye out.
Bothe antennas are in my attic, unfortunately, which isn't ideal, but until I can get around to ripping down one of the condo rows' old satellite tv dishes, it's the best place for them. The V/U antenna is a simple Comet dual band stick, bolted to a rafter beam for now. The HF antenna is another proud moment for me, it's a combo fan and trap dipole: 10m has its own elements, and 20-80m are all on a third dipole with traps for 20m and 40m, which I hand built and tuned, all at a common feedpoint. This actually works pretty well, considering its all wrapped up around the perimer of my attic and not outside, I'm leaning on that auto-tuner a lot though lol. I had to coil the extra wire up at one end, and I mounted it all in a pretty sweet spiral pattern, but I didnt take any pictures and access requires a ladder and I'm not in the mood, so you'll just have to picture it. However you do, it's actually twice as cool looking, trust me :)
Also I run arch btw
