write about someone who means a lot to you

I had a friend before and she was a lot like you. I helped her survive high school but she had her demons too and then we grew apart. I didn't think I would ever have another “best friend”; not that I wouldn't have friends but who could ever get me the way she did?

And then there's you. Oh, you.

Not even the one long lost ever got me the way you get me. We are two parts of one mind in truth, but your mind is greater than mine could ever be. We stand eye to eye, which is all too rare in my life, and we fight hand in hand, which is even rarer. Your creativity is astonishing and your commitment to the bit remains unmatched. Your hard work is rivaled only by your ability to release the things that no longer serve you and that is real power.

I think you are fearless and brave, which are not the same at all. I am in constant awe of the seeming ease with which you network and build; I can do that stuff as well but you make it look so simple. The way that you are able to both collaborate and direct are like witchcraft to me. You have created so much just by your will alone and the strength of your hand. I never tire of you.

In the words of an ancient webcomic I love that no one's ever heard of: I dunno about you. I never met anyone like you. You're nice. And you trust me and I ain't done a thing to deserve it. I like you. So much. I wanna be someone that deserves your trust, yeah? You're optimistic. Good-natured. Can do things I can't. All I want in a friend.
