Overall this episode wasn’t my fav. I’m not loving Annie and Ruby’s storylines. That Annie is seeing children’s therapist? I don’t want to shame my girl but like why did they have to infantalize her seeking out mental health support? Annie in this episode is reminding me hard of S1 Annie, with the buying a pony nonsense. Maybe even more extreme than S1 Annie. Where’s our girl’s character growth? And like obviously she’s gonna sleep with the therapist. And like yes he’s very fine but why they gotta do her like this? I’m going to get on my soapbox for a minute and say that our girl was straight up seduced by a lying manipulative jerk trying to incarcerate her. She deserves to have some feelings about that and generally about how difficult her life has been. But there’s no reason to make it manifest like this. I’m grumpy.

I am happy that they’re feeling out how Ruby can end up seriously in career crime, but something feels a little lackluster to me. Maybe I’m still caught up on the sex work shaming from last week. I did love all her scenes with Stan though. Stanley continues to be a gem.

Now Beth - I loved the storyline with Judith. Her MIL is trying to out organize our meticulous queen? Girl, please. On the flip side, I didn’t love Beth throwing around her white privilege. And I’m pretty sure she’s going to face some reprocussions for that finally. Both with Rio and the money laundering dudes coming back to haunt her. Multiple times throughout the episode I thought about how our girl needs a gun. Beth, I am not pro-fire arms either but you need to get safe!

Overall, I liked the girls criming, making realistic mistakes and missing Rio in their own way. Their banter continues to be magic.

Assorted random thoughts before we get to the end: Matt Saracen is still so hot even with all his hair gone. Beth has a tattoo, too????? A tattoo that Rio has already seen off camera. How dare they! Stop revealing layers of their intimacy to me without any receipts!!! Give me a flashback sex scene!

Okay, now, that last minute!

Moment of honesty, I didn’t think I could ship Beth and Rio again once S3 started because of that terrible finale. But wow. Why are they like this? How are they like this? Can they chill out? But, please can they never change. These assholes! My heart was beating out of my chest. It’s still beating out of my chest. *chef kisses*

Also how dare they screen this show so late for all us. How are we supposed to sleep?
