very proud to report that I did not have to unfollow a single blog today because I've curated my dash perfectly and even those who disagreed with me are capable of nuance and thoughtfulness
Me trying to understand how every tennis player and their mother are scheduled to play today with all the weather delays

in psychonauts 2, while you're in hollis's casino-hospital, at one point she thinks something like "asking for help only gets you in trouble". and it's just a one-off comment but raz responds genuinely, "I hope that's not true...I ask for help all the time!" and i just.....🥺 your honor he's ten
bug fables spoilers:
thinking about the theory that elizant i sent leif and his team to snakemouth because she knew about snakemouth labs. like, elizant’s number one goal was eternal life, and the everlasting sapling was her best shot at it--she was hungry enough for it that she put herself into an artificial sleep and place the responsibility of its pursuit on her daughter in the hopes that one day she’d return to rule. but if she had known about the lab and their goal, it might not be a stretch for her to a) turn a blind eye and continue to permit explorers to snakemouth and/or b) purposefully send explorers to snakemouth for the scientists, depending on how desperate she was. (it may or may not have been a coincidence that leif’s team had either two or three moths, and that you can find notes in snakemouth explicitly confirming that moths are the preferred hosts for cordyceps.)
there’s not very much to base this off of, but it’s interesting to think about mostly because of the other characters whose lives revolve around the sapling. hoaxe is a tyrant, the snakemouth scientists are cartoonishly amoral, the roaches in the deadlands are singlemindedly devoted to its protection at the cost of their safety and livelihoods, to the point where their protections of it led to its wilting and eventual death. even elizant ii is cold and calculating, set up to be a villain until the reveal that she’s seeking out the sapling for her mother. all of these people (bugs lol), no matter how good their intentions, let their obsession with eternal life dictate their actions, and they all suffered for it. what would make elizant i different? she is described as benevolent and caring, but her wish being granted would place her as the permanent ruler of her kingdom, which tbh sounds kinda dubious. (also, the theory being true would be an interesting sorta parallel to leif’s initial resentment and suspicion of elizant ii, and make his near-idolization of elizant i and basically his whole situation that much more tragic.)
