Seeker & Phantom / Wraith

Be aware! Seekers have some kinda Gross anatomy (Their Eye)
So uh. Phantoms / Wraiths & Seekers in our AUs are actually a Subspecies of the main impostor species, like the Other impostor roles.
They're Both found mostly on islands or by the shores of various oceans(more commonly near saltwater oceans), as they prefer to live on warmer planets with big oceans.
although this post isn't about Vipers, I like to think that Vipers occasionally cohabitate with these two.
In their natural habitat, Phantoms / Wraiths stay on land, while Seekers mostly go out into the water to hunt, the two subspecies have learned to live together in large colonies, and rely on eachother for food and protection.
The Phantom & Wraith are actually the same subspecies, wraiths are just.. A little special.
The image above is a sketch of the standard Phantom / Wraith in our style this one is one that lives among a crew of crewmates, and has fluffed out it's fur to appear fluffier than it is.
Unlike the seeker, Phantoms and Wraiths do Not have an eye in their mouth, and instead have all four "fangs" at the front of their beak.
Their beaks are designed to crush through hard objects, but the Fangs are built to Peirce. They use these "fangs" on their beaks to crack open coconuts, or break into crashed ships.
Personally, we like the idea that they originally mostly ate things like Fish, Fruits, Nuts, and Shellfish, but eventually branched out to eating Crewmates because crewmates probably have alot more meat on their bone than tropical fish did.
What is the difference between a Phantom and a Wraith?
Phantoms well, It depends on the individual. We do not have any specific behavioral headcanons other than that they poof in their sleep.
Wraiths (While Alive) do not like to kill, they will avoid violence at all costs, Even if it means exposing themselves as a Wraith, and poofing to get away. They will only kill in self defense.

Just fyi, Worm is a standard impostor.
The Seeker is its own subspecies, not related to the Phantom or Wraith, just extremely similar due to them adapting to similar environments.
Their diets consist of mostly Meat, as they are primarily Carnivores, But they Can eat anything a crewmate can.
This is where our revamped stuff comes in. We now have TWO versions of seekers.
Variant 1 (Var.1) & Variant 2 (Var.2)
Var.2 is not Done entirely. So we will be updating this later.
Both variants of seeker contain a single eyeball in their mouth, it's uncertain how this even Works anatomically. Because the eye is more akin to a glass marble or some sorta pearl. They spit it out before eating.

Var.1 Seekers remain dormant in their hosts until the host's life is Threatened, or its host is Dying(Starvation). The parasite itself is Not Sentient.
If either event occurs they will trigger what is known to them, as a "Hunt" where they will shapeshift into their larger form, and attack anything that moves, that they cannot Immidiately recognize as a member of their colony.
Among crewmates, this Slaughter is known as a H.N.S Event, or a Hide 'N Seek Event.
These events are how Seekers got their name.
Var.1 Seekers can Only turn back into their disguised form once they have eaten enough, or have rested enough to regain the energy needed to turn back.

Var.2 Seekers are different, They Are Sentient.
The parasite Rips itself free from the host body, in most cases they are Trapped with the decaying suit stuck to them.
It is thought that the host themselves becomes Trapped in their own body, as the Parasite wreaks havoc on their former crew.
There has Never been an instance recorded of a Var.2 Seeker turning back into their disguised form.
These variants are extremely aggressive, and not well studied.

Our caretaker does not believe in things such as DID / OSDD / Ect (I do not know all of the acronyms, sorry..) due to being extremely religious, and other things we'd rather not state.
They Genuinely believe DID symptoms to be signs of demonic possession.
We are aware we cannot control how people percieve us, but we would still appreciate being treated like a person.
