good evening gamers. it’s that time of the year when we (I) give awards to the most outstanding games of the year*. so here are the games that the critics (also me) decided should be recognized
in a surprising twist, this year we have games in TWO distinct categories:

I did it....
After a weekend with the game I can say that Monster Hunter Wilds is extremely fun. Hopefully the needed performance patches get pushed out soon. I’ve had a number of crashes transitioning from one locale to another to start a quest. The village at the oilwell basin made my performance dip on the first day or two but just yesterday it was running much smoother. Out hunting, I’ve had the game chug so bad it’s like watching a powerpoint for a few seconds at random points.
The main story was so much better than World in that it was good at all. I like that they are world building with the guild a bit more. References back to 4U give a nod to veteran hunters (if you started with World you aren’t a veteran, sorry guys) but it doesn’t feel like they’re cashing in on that nostalgia.
The multiplayer functionality leaves a lot to be desired. It feels held back by how World did it with big lobbies and being unable to smoothly progress through the story with somebody else. Having to watch the cutscenes then join the other player’s quest sucks. The environment link is cool but you have to stick to one area at a time or else it severs the connection. Luckily, solo play is so fun you don’t miss multiplayer too much.
I’m fiending so hard to play it but I have to work :////

No words can describe how much this game means to me. Finally gotten the platinum and did EVERYTHING this game and it's dlc's had to offer. I adore this game, the music, its characters, its fantastic bosses and its story... It will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you to everyone involved in making this beautiful game.
