8.1.2018 8:45 PM [Day 1] | I’ve decided for the #todlangchallenge that I’m going to focus on my two main target languages, Spanish and Italian! My goal is to keep my Spanish up to snuff and improve my Italian. Today I’ve chosen Truth!
Truth: Write a miniature biography.
español
Hola, soy Rivkah.
italiano
Mi chiamo Rivkah. Sono studente americana. Abito a Florida. Voglio imparare molto italiano. ( @langsandlit forgive my terrible Italian I think of you every time I try to write in this language)
Interested in participating? It’s not too late to start, and you’re welcome to jump in on whatever day you begin!
What languages have you been focusing on lately?
Mostly French and Greek, but also Trigedasleng and my own conlang Ätchgö. (: (The Greek is on the down-low though - my family doesn’t know I’m taking private lessons, so the next time we’re all in Greece together … . >;) …)
Assumption: you speak 5 languages
true if by speak 5 languages you specify it to mean ‘can speak for 1+ hour only in that language with anywhere from minor–>major mistakes at wildly different registers’ (German/French/Dutch/Greek/Irish/) (:
(I tend to say I only speak 3, i.e. English, German, French, since these are the languages that I could live speaking monolingually for the rest of my life with at the drop of a hat)
I’m been curious but how old are you?
it's in my bio !! i'm 17 !
Going through the languages notebook for fun and like
I have a page that's "here's the Aozuri alphabet and how to pronounce the letters" followed immediately by several pages of "but if you put these letters together they actually sound like this."
It amuses me and also probably would give someone visual whiplash.
At what age did you start getting into languages?
I've always had a soft spot in my heart for languages. 2 home languages in my childhood and all throughout my life, low-key 'language at lunch' (Spanish) classes during the second half of primary school, French at school starting from 14, teaching myself German from 16 and going overboard and beyond ever since.
