it can be but doesn’t have to be. my saturn is in the first n what i’ve read abt this, n felt in my own life, is that my father had a significant role in shaping who i am as a person but not necessarily thru positive attributes. rather, thru his absence n our conflict. IMO, this has to do with the fact that saturn is in a house ruled by mars. mars is how we deal with conflict n anger, saturn is often measured but has no problem with cruelty. So when saturn meets this mars energy, i think there’s this sort of unabashed, critical view of self, possibly inherited from dad/dad energy. when we talk abt fathers/mothers/siblings in astrology, it’s abt the energy. who in yr life carries dad energy for u ? it doesn’t have to be bloodline or even a “father figure” person in yr life. this connection between saturn in the first n father relationship is abt dad’s impact on self-perception n self-expression. does/did this dad person help u self express ? tell u not to be so hard on yrself ? tell u how proud they are of u ? then yr self-perception is gonna be vastly different from someone with this placement who has a dad person who restricts self-expression, consistently tells them they could do better rather than expressing celebration or pride, n encourages self-criticism as a form of growing. dad energy is rarely all positive for a person. i have noticed that ppl with this placement do not often speak of their father ppl as positive influences. but that doesn’t mean that it’s always going to be conflict n difficulty, it just sorta depends.
