Summary:  Kurt is looking for an after-school job. He finds an ad on the school bulletin board for a job reading aloud for someone. It pays well and seems easy, so Kurt applies. He gets the job and goes to the mansion to read for a boy that was severely injured in an accident. Of course you know the boy's name is Blaine Anderson. After a rocky start, they become friends and an amazing opportunity opens up for Kurt.

about my reader

I write primarily "x reader" fanfiction. Now, what exactly does that mean?

It means that I write a story that the audience can insert themselves into the role of the reader character and feel comfortable doing so.

I typically write in second person limited perspective and avoid Y/N, but may dabble with aliases, nicknames, etc.

Physical descriptions of the reader will be vague. Often from the perspective of the paired character: mentioning an attraction to eyes, hair, body etc without specifying color/texture/shape and with generic physical descriptors like soft skin, bright smile, etc. I try to make my fics POC friendly (the basics: not mentioning blushing or long flowing hair) but if I include a detail that feels exclusionary in that way, don't hesitate to let me know!

The reader will have a distinctive personality and will usually have a distinctive backstory tailored to the world that I'm writing in. Personality will vary, but will likely align with my own more often than not. Occupation may play a role in story, but I typically prefer that the reader is involved in the same team or job as the paired character rather than being a civilian with an unrelated job.

The reader will usually lean female, but if possible I will label gender neutral fics as such. I identify as a woman, but that isn't always an important part of my story and working in second person perspective allows me to askew those pesky gendered pronouns.

My reader will usually be able-bodied. Height will likely only be mentioned if the paired character is particularly tall so it would be assumed they would be taller than my usually female reader. Weight, similarly, will not be mentioned and I will try to avoid the reader being carried, etc. unless the paired character is particularly strong (ie superhuman) so not to be exclusionary as I am not a petite lady myself.

Any deviations from these norms, including but not limited to family members, religious affiliations, or other more alienating character details will always be noted in the tags of a particular fic.

I make all these caveats because while I adore "x reader", my aim is to write the reader as a flexible but fully-fledged character rather than a blank slate. As I write primarily for myself, I write the type of "x reader" that I want to read and this is me being upfront about that.
