Hi! I’m looking for an old Klaine (Glee) fanfiction, probably one I read years ago on FanFiction.net. I don’t remember the title or the author, and I have the feeling that I might be mixing together two different fanfictions, or possibly confusing some details from the same story. I’ll try to explain everything I remember.

I’m almost sure that both stories (or maybe the same story, I honestly can’t tell anymore) had a similar element: Kurt and Blaine were about to get married, and the tragedy happened shortly before the wedding, possibly the night before or the day before. I remember some kind of attack, probably a homophobic hate crime, where Kurt is killed and Blaine survives.

One of the stories I remember more clearly is about Blaine after Kurt’s death. Blaine is completely devastated and eventually reaches the point where he doesn’t want to live anymore, leading to his suicide (I don’t remember if it happens explicitly or if it is more implied).

The scene I remember the most clearly involves Elizabeth Hummel and Burt Hummel. I remember Elizabeth appearing in some kind of supernatural way and talking to Burt. The meaning of the conversation was that what was happening had already been decided, almost like it was fate or destiny that Blaine was also meant to die and eventually join Kurt. Burt initially tries to stop Blaine from making that choice, but after his conversation with Elizabeth, there is a very emotional scene where Burt talks to Blaine and, instead of forcing him to stay alive, somehow accepts his decision.

I also remember a later scene where Burt talks to Elizabeth again after Blaine’s death and says something like “don’t ever make me do something like this again” (I don’t remember the exact words, but the meaning was that having to let Blaine go was extremely painful for him).

I vaguely remember another scene where Blaine is with the other Glee characters (possibly in a restaurant or some kind of public place) and he becomes angry and breaks down while saying that Kurt is gone and that Kurt isn’t there anymore. I think Santana and Finn were there, along with other characters.

Another detail I remember (but I might be mixing it with the other fanfiction) is that Kurt and Blaine appear after their deaths as some kind of angels or spirits and watch the people they left behind from a distance. I have a very specific image in my mind of a scene where they are together, possibly sitting near or on a tree, observing the others.

I also remember something about Finn, but I’m not completely sure which story it belongs to. I think that in the story where Blaine eventually dies by suicide, Finn might already be dead before Kurt and Blaine’s deaths. However, in the other story (the one involving Kurt’s soul being reincarnated into another body), I think Finn might still be alive and experiencing those events. I could be mixing these details up, but I have a strong memory that Finn’s death was connected to one of the stories.

The other fanfiction I might be confusing with this one is also about Kurt and Blaine: Kurt dies after an attack before the wedding, but then his soul somehow reincarnates into another person. I vaguely remember that the new person might have been a singer or someone famous, and that Blaine possibly recognizes Kurt in him, but I don’t remember exactly how the story ends.

I’m pretty sure the stories include characters like Burt, Elizabeth, Santana, and Finn. I may be mixing some scenes between two different fics, but the details I remember most clearly are:

an upcoming wedding;

a homophobic attack;

Kurt’s death;

Blaine being unable to move on;

Elizabeth talking to Burt about fate/destiny;

an important conversation between Burt and Blaine before Blaine’s death;

Kurt and Blaine appearing after death as spirits/angels;

possibly Finn already being dead in one of the stories.

If anyone recognizes even one of these scenes or knows the title/author of the fanfiction, I would be incredibly grateful. Thank you!

Kurt's giggles die out as the bottle slows to a halt in front of him and his wide smile falters. It's not that he doesn't want to kiss Blaine, because he really, really does. It's just that Blaine is drunk, and he's not, and he wants Blaine to want to kiss him, instead of just kissing him over a stupid drunken party game.

Plus, what if Blaine refuses? Can he even handle that rejection? What if Blaine, after Kurt's confession after valentine's day, doesn't want to encourage Kurt's feelings and turns Kurt down in front of all his friends? He can't think of any worse humiliation.

And yet, Blaine doesn't seem to exhibit the hesitance Kurt expects. Instead, he's smiling almost wide enough to split face in half and shuffling closer to Kurt. Kurt allows himself to start smiling again and can feel his face start to heat up, and leans tentatively towards Blaine, prepared for his third ever kiss. He's actually started to get excited now.

I vaguely remember another scene where Blaine is with the other Glee characters (possibly in a restaurant or some kind of public place) and he becomes angry and breaks down while saying that Kurt is gone and that Kurt isn’t there anymore. I think Santana and Finn were there, along with other characters.

Another detail I remember (but I might be mixing it with the other fanfiction) is that Kurt and Blaine appear after their deaths as some kind of angels or spirits and watch the people they left behind from a distance. I have a very specific image in my mind of a scene where they are together, possibly sitting near or on a tree, observing the others.

I also remember something about Finn, but I’m not completely sure which story it belongs to. I think that in the story where Blaine eventually dies by suicide, Finn might already be dead before Kurt and Blaine’s deaths. However, in the other story (the one involving Kurt’s soul being reincarnated into another body), I think Finn might still be alive and experiencing those events. I could be mixing these details up, but I have a strong memory that Finn’s death was connected to one of the stories.

The other fanfiction I might be confusing with this one is also about Kurt and Blaine: Kurt dies after an attack before the wedding, but then his soul somehow reincarnates into another person. I vaguely remember that the new person might have been a singer or someone famous, and that Blaine possibly recognizes Kurt in him, but I don’t remember exactly how the story ends.

I’m pretty sure the stories include characters like Burt, Elizabeth, Santana, and Finn. I may be mixing some scenes between two different fics, but the details I remember most clearly are:

an upcoming wedding;

a homophobic attack;

Kurt’s death;

Blaine being unable to move on;

Elizabeth talking to Burt about fate/destiny;

an important conversation between Burt and Blaine before Blaine’s death;

Kurt and Blaine appearing after death as spirits/angels;

possibly Finn already being dead in one of the stories.
