Flute Section Hell

One of the flutes in my section felt section leader was too long of a title, so decided that I was the parent of the group. So she calls me "mommy" in the middle of a sectional. I trying to be reasonable says, "please don't call me that."

This rebel goes "okay daddy."

At this point I realize that it's just going to keep getting worse from there, and that there was NO return.

I reply, "fuck it, fine, you can call me daddy. Now, let's get back to going over the movement."

I love my section, but they are evil people sometimes. As my band director comes by, they're follwing directions and being good. Until I call them to set, they all scream "YES DADDY!" as the band director walks by us.

I have never seen him so lifeless and ready for death.

Going to concerts in your 20s is so strange, like it makes me feel so weird and old.

I think the only time I haven’t felt old at a concert was at a One Direction concert like 3 years ago and that was only because someone’s mother asked me why my parents let me go to the concert alone and I said, “Well, I’m almost 21″ and she retorted, “Oh, I thought you were 14.”

So like... I had felt incredibly old until that moment. Then from that moment on I felt too scandalized to feel old.
