People keep telling me that my standards for cognition are unreasonably high, but I mostly meet my standards just fine and it doesn't feel like it takes all that much time or effort, even if we include the initial work needed to get going.

Then again I'm neurotic and dysfunctional in some rare ways, and that's probably related.

I’d ask for a citation and a source, but it doesn’t matter. I don’t support content that features them, so I’m functionally abiding by the standard you want me to set, and ZUN has also stated that what he and Canon say aren’t the standard for what Fanon is allowed to do. I hold the belief that not following Canon, such as by interpreting the Scarlets as adults, isn’t itself a cause for harassment or cancellation.

Am I not allowed to have an opinion? If you disagree enough that this upsets you, block and move on. I really don’t care and I will not budge on this. I am allowed to have my opinion even if you don’t like it, especially when it doesn’t affect how I run my blog. I will not say this again.

I have it written on my Ask button that Anonymous Rumors will be ignored. This means if you have a problem with any particular artist or content, I will not accept anonymous asks that go “watch out they do this” or “ZUN said this so we shouldn’t do that” or “so and so is friends with so and so.” You must come off Anon and give me actual evidence, not just hearsay. I do this so that I can hold people accountable for lying or passing their headcanons or popular fanon off as canon, and also because if they are not, I can handle the matter privately without making a public declaration about it.

Public declarations can lead to harassment campaigns even if I urge people not to take action, and I don’t want to contribute to those when they’re already such an issue, especially on Tumblr.

For things to be considered actionable, you must give me a source of all information you assert (either a picture of something or a link to it) as well as the means for me to verify this information myself (i.e. a link to something problematic, links or pictures of a raw moment in native Japanese, or a Wiki page with the untranslated text). The person who got me to strike Youmu from my ship list did all this and more. I am a busy woman and I don’t have time to go hunting down everything by hand. If you feel strongly enough about something to want action taken, it’s the least you owe me.

If the matter is about an Artist, I will also be going to that artist to give them a chance to explain themselves. If I have been given enough actionable evidence and they cannot satisfy me with their explanation, I will quietly pull support for them. However, if they offer me an understandable explanation and express an apology for acting this way, I will not.

I may make exceptions in extreme cases, such as if a particular person is an actual predator or serial harasser with victims (I still need evidence and you must still come off anon). In such an event, I may pull support immediately and issue a warning about the individual. I may not, however, so be understanding that I prefer to take a measured and careful approach.

That will be my final word on all these issues. I will block anyone who comes to me ignoring what I’ve said, because I don’t have the mental fortitude to handle these problems every single day.
